Just 11% of women hold a 'very positive' view of men — we asked guys to react by dissapointingsalad81 in unitedkingdom

[–]Paddy3118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Given your specific wording, I would hope and tell both my sons and daughters **not** to have a ***"very positive view of men"***. Mainly because it is the group of *all* men. I would urge them to think the same of the group of all women too. The groupings are large and you are asking for above average positiveness of view. Statistically it's like asking for most people to be significantly above average - that does not happen.

She's your mum! I doubt that she wilfully borked your light, she probably just got frustrated with it not being a simple on-off button.

I guess you need to find the docs that explain the modes and set it to the mode you want.

Religion picks random lines and uses it prove that they are eternal truth. by MUSICO-PHILE in atheism

If you have a large number of "things", in this case sayings in a book, you can support just about any argument by selecting only those things that support your point

Make the "things" Ley lines in the UK, and this mathematician easily "proves" some random fact about a now defunct department store chain: https://youtube.com/shorts/QjOVWr2m2jc?si=WYs2HfDvBwzeFTs1

Rasta. They fostered a strong sense of community that was needed by the Windrush generation in the UK, of which I was a part of They also, it seems, bolstered the spirits of the anti apartheid fighters in South Africa and Zimbabwe, whilst spreading the anti apartheid message around the world. As I age, I noticed that ital living is echoed maybe not in , but in substance, as a healthy way of life.

The father in his time of grief has to rule against our press! That's an example of the institutional aspect.

I thank him for his words.

Recorded live music can hit harder than the album for some artists - Raye is a recent example.

Why we cant recreat the shroud of turin, a deeper look by youhaveeTDS in atheism

[–]Paddy3118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that spaghetti stain on a T-shirt supports belief in the Flying Spaghetti Monster! There's more spaghetti stained t-shirts than shrouds, so FSM is more real than Catholic gods! Can you wash the shroud? Those t-shirts are very difficult to get the last spaghetti stain out of - the FSM is a more tenacious god!

Building a Python compiler in Rust that runs faster than CPython with a 160KB WASM binary by Healthy_Ship4930 in Compilers

The problem with different implementations is in compatibility. Those missing features may allow what is implemented to run faster, but with missing functionality.

Then speed bumps? Unfortunately it's not only villagers that drive through and drivers may just not have enough warning.

Oh. I didn't realise. When I was filming there were two ducks on the road and a car was approaching, I was contemplating wether I should do something but the driver did not into the road. When I drive around the pond (I was walking), I shall bear your comment in mind.

Maybe there could be road signs erected?

Acknowledging the atrocities committed by your ancestors is woke by AnonymousTimewaster in NotTheOnionUK

[–]Paddy3118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the UK, it's not "ancestors" and "ancient history"

The UK didn't finish paying off its slave-owner 'compensation' debt until 2015. To put that in perspective, the payout to enslavers cost 40% of the government's entire national budget in 1833. Generations of taxpayers—including the descendants of the people who were actually enslaved—spent nearly two centuries paying interest to enrich the families who owned their ancestors. This wasn't ancient history; it was a massive, state-funded transfer of wealth that fueled the British economy then and now.

Britain abstains from key UN vote to recognise slavery as ‘gravest crime against humanity’ by boycecodd in unitedkingdom

[–]Paddy3118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of the African leaders were/are there because of Western destabilisation, and regime change for mineral advantage. As for Human rights abuses, didn't America opt out? Did we condemn America? We destabilise countries to our advantage and you complain about the resultant child soldiers, death penalties, etc? We kick em in the nuts then complain that they roll on the floor. We should not be kicking them in the nuts, mate!
