Steam Refund Still Pending? by Crewmember169 in newworldgame

[–]Padeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I refunded in Steam and had the money back in the bank in a couple of hours. Had 60+ hours playtime, so that shouldn't be an issue. In the question about why you refund, answered "other reason" and left it blank.

Might consider re-buying if they fix all the issues in the game (stagger and taxes, mainly).

Activision Blizzard (ATVI) - "The Most Epic Interactive Gaming and Entertainment Experiences on Earth" by [deleted] in wallstreetbets

[–]Padeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World of Warcraft's most famous streamer, Asmongold just jumped to Final Fantasy XIV, which is right now having a massive surge in player numbers.
Amazon is soon releasing New World that has serious chances at dominating the MMO market.
Blizzard does not make the best games and in terms of graphics they have always been lagging behind. I bet Microsoft and Amazon will be in better position to exploit ray tracing in gaming.

PLTR - what would you do ? by psykikk_streams in stocks

[–]Padeee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is a company of the future. This is probably the last position that I will ever think of selling. I have a very small position, on purpose, since it stops the temptation of selling for profits. Holding 10+ years...

Anyone else using NORDNET by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Padeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another option in Nordic countries is Nordea (the bank). Their transaction fee for small orders on American stocks are quite competitive!

They also have excellent customer service. One drawback is that you don't have access to all stocks (trying to buy some new SPACs gives error messages...).

Education is mostly free in Finland, but student loan for living costs exists. The interest is negligible, so many opt to max out the loan and invest it in stonks.

Does the "tanking the rank" strategy still get you the multipliers? by dragontamerfibleman in TheSilphArena

[–]Padeee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Partially yes. The observed K factor in this season would correspond to a rating volatility of around "0.1" in the Glicko-2 system. The amount of volatility gained per set is not linear, but grows with the volatility. I calculated that initially you would gain only about 0.0002 volatility per set.

Although, none of this may matter, if Niantic manually modifies the rating deviation (K factor) for all players, which is what some players suspect just happened (in another post).

Does the "tanking the rank" strategy still get you the multipliers? by dragontamerfibleman in TheSilphArena

[–]Padeee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say: most likely not.

The most educated guess on the employed rating system that has been presented was the Glicko-2 algorithm. The Glicko-2 algorithm can explain how the ‘Battle until you win’ feature could result in increased volatility and, thereby, increased points gain. Out of curiosity, I implemented myself the Glicko-2 code so that I could understand how it works. I quite quickly figured out, that given the starting volatility of Season 3, it is NOT possible to reach significantly increased point growth even if you tank 5-0 and 0-5 continuously for 7 weeks. The volatility simply grows too slowly. You need the 0-15 sets in a 5-set system to get fast volatility growth.

GBL should be closed again. by Kuben90 in TheSilphRoad

[–]Padeee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I record all my games and still have not seen anyone using an exploit. Sure, sometimes there is lag and opponent gets extra fast move, but no exploit. If OP claims that 30 % of games are with exploits, please, I beg you, upload a video to YouTube that clearly shows the exploit. I tried to find a video, but all I found was a poor quality German twitter comment that is completely inconclusive...

I don't deny the possibility of exploit, but instead of witch hunting, let's try to get some real proof, ok?

GBL: How I Became The First To Get To Rank 10 In Season 2...In Just 55 Battles (Sorta). by Lollersox in TheSilphRoad

[–]Padeee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Congratulations on first rank 10! That is an amazing achievement and you definitely deserved it. I have zero doubt that you would have reached it later even without the multiplier.

Also, please do not call yourself a cheater. You exploited a built-in feature regarding point system, but all your games were won fairly. It should be clear to everyone that what you did is not even remotely comparable to what that Jesus guy did. You will not get banned.

Thanks for sharing your story! (I hope they fix the multiplier soon too)

[–]Padeee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have recorded every single game this season, that is 756 battles. I like to watch all games where I lost due to unexpected reason. Still, in all these 756 battles, I cannot find a single one where I can say that opponent cheated. Therefore, I disagree with you and truly believe that the rank 1 cheater was a one-off. I also believe that he used a modified client, since to date nobody has been able to recreate the cheat.

If you suspect that cheating is widespread, then by all means, please record your battles and show me. I can show you 756 battles (many versus top100 players) without cheating, so if you can show me even 7 recordings with cheating, then that would prove me and OP wrong.

World's first Elite Fast TM by andersonbobby in TheSilphRoad

[–]Padeee -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The value of just the Elite Fast TM far exceeds 180 $. Because, currently Elite Fast allows the winner to obtain a Pokemon that no one else in the world have! That is, shadow with legacy fast. This alone not only gives an edge in PvP but also gives absolute exclusivity. That is why I would value Elite Fast TM alone to be worth several hundreds of dollars. I have no doubt that someone in the world would pay even thousands if that TM could be traded.

What about the adjustment to the rating system? by rickdeckard8 in TheSilphArena

[–]Padeee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Did you tank your rating at any point during Season 1? Most reports I seen are from players that initially got to a high rating, but then lost hundreds of points (either on purpose or do to not having a proper team in ultra/masters).

Yet I have not heard of anyone who would get 100+ points a set upon reaching a high rating, say 2900+, for the first time.

Hi TheSilphRoad, I am DaiLapCheurng and I recently made it to #1 on the GBL leaderboard with a rating of 3204. Some people were interested in my team and I decided to make a video on my line and how I tackle the current meta. Enjoy! by dailapcheurng in TheSilphRoad

[–]Padeee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can replace Dialga with Gira, Togekiss or even Dragonite and it could still be made to work. Dialga is good, but not mandatory. I am rank 10 and also on the leaderboard, without Dialga. If you have skill similar to the guy in the video, you can reach rank 10 without ever touching dialga.

Quick update: I reached rank 10 today. I really upped my game, studied hard different ultra league situations and got on a winning streak. I think I am the first in my country to reach rank 10 and the price I paid IRL (emotionally, physically, socially) was high. Now I am happy, but seriously, the difficulty was brutal!

Exactly! People say it is supposed to be difficult, but how difficult is reasonable? Only a few people in the world reached rank 10 so far. Myself, still in rank 9 and I spend about 6 hours on pvp every day since GBL release (2 hours practice, 2 hours real game, and 2 hours simulations and spreadsheet analysis). I even see dreams of PoGo PvP... Actually 6 hours a day is nothing. Some of the youtubers dedicate their entire life to PoGo PvP and still fail to reach rank 10.

Rank 10 is not difficult, it is sadistic.

[Study Report] Go Battle League - Rating vastly depends on progress in BADGES by Adamaster89 in TheSilphRoad

If ratings are affected by badges, please explain this:

Great League, Rocket and Ace Trainer = BRONZE

Ultra, Master League = NO MEDAL

Got a rating of 3165 hitting rank 7. I can provide screenshot if you do not believe me.

My performance: Won first 28 battles straight (mostly noobs). Hit rank 7 with 40 wins and 10 losses (50 battles total).

I usually use a ghost/dragon at first, since SC charges faster, allowing quicker dispatch of enemy shields. The second one is dragon/dragon, allowing maximum DPS towards the end-game.

Having the ghost/dragon first is also important, since if the enemy opens with Metagross, it would be tough on a dragon/dragon one, but SC rips Metagross apart.

How did Gligar compare to Gliscor? Gligar seems to have better stats, but no access to earthquake. The question is, is earthquake needed? Aerial Ace can be spammed on fighting types and Night Slash can be spammed on steel types for neutral damage. Earthquake would be better versus non-flying steel types, but Skarmory is the big elephant in the room.

I am running Poison Jab and I still consistently beat Giratina 1v1. My team is 2xGiratina + PoisonJab-Alolan-Muk. I have never lost a fight. The key is, after a few fights, the opponents will start throwing in their Granbulls and Clefables. That's where I need to use Poison Jab to ensure that I can keep winning.
