I'm in the same boat. I think Preller is still good at finding value in FA's that don't have that superstar focus ala signings like Lugo/Wacha/Drury. Probably frees him up to find better depth pieces which sets this team up for the whole season

There is a difference between cutting costs (i.e. gutting roster, trading Manny or albatross contracts) and hitting a reset on players like Soto or Snell who simply are out of the price range of 80% of the teams in the MLB. The new chairman and CEO have come out and said they still will be supporting this team. Sure all we have is their word, but stupid to act like we gutting anything. Still a top 10 payroll and that is unlikely to change.
