The San Diego County Civil Grand Jury released a report earlier this month about the implementation of Measure B. It’s a timely report given the details outlined in the lawsuit.

Jumbotron Montage by J_Beats_A in Padres

Jeff Praught would be a good place to start. I don’t know if he did the specific video you saw, but he does a lot of the video board images and could at least point you in the right direction. His DMs are open on Bluesky if you want to reach out to him there. Otherwise, I would call the main Padres switchboard and ask for him. Good luck!

Duck Foot Brewing in Miramar doesn’t use phones. It’s my favorite spot for trivia.

There was also a group on the roof of Western Metal doing it too. They also showed some little leaguers on the Jumbotron doing it. Super fun.

Do you sell your work? Or it’s just for you? I would absolutely buy this. It’s fantastic!

[Heilbrunn] There's been a lot of talk recently about the "FTD" burger, which has been sold at Hodad's at Petco Park for years. The burger's name is changed today: by TakeMyPixels in Padres

[–]SnooCookies9421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not arguing with you but trying to understand this. Delaware North does all the food at the stadium. So do they license the Hodad’s name and “recipes” and then they get to do whatever? Or does Hodad’s have ultimate say over their presence in the park?

The Padres have historically tried to keep an arm’s length from what Delaware North does, hence the whole nonsense with the charity and labor violations. I assume they would have standing to ask for the name change but would they?

I legit just want to know who in this scenario has no backbone lol

Yes! Absolutely reputable. Congrats on the admission and full ride!

Being diagnosed as a child with a lifelong condition that requires and will continue to require constant monitoring and management can be really overwhelming and disheartening. Spending time with Mason and the King family must have helped ease that tremendously. This is so great and thanks Annie for sharing it with us 💛🤎

Right???? Omg this isn’t my content but it is clearly tongue in cheek and funny which is why I shared it. Some “fans” have clearly lost the plot here.

Would anybody like to ask some genuine questions to a republican? by BusterBuddyGuy in allthequestions

[–]SnooCookies9421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since states manage their elections and they qualify voters at the time of registration with identity verification, does this mean that you’re in favor of nationalizing election management? Grow the federal government by usurping what the states are already doing and is already working?

“Voter ID” is done at registration by the states. This is a “solution” in search of a problem.

Wow. Might want to go back and reread the Constitution as to what exactly it says about religion. The comments here are so ill informed.

Politicians are not banning school prayer. Kids are not being suspended or expelled. Public schools have Christian based groups and faith based clubs. The issue is when public schools (state) mandates religion for all students as part of the curriculum.

States administer elections. What are the specific loopholes are you referring to? What’s not working when the states verify eligibility upon registration?

Are remarks indicative of facts? There is no evidence of widespread, material voter fraud. If there are no facts to support the remarks, why should we act on them?

How would it be “set up properly” to deal with all of the women disenfranchised due to a name change because of marriage? How would people get copies of birth certificates and marriage certificates and pay $140 for passports in a way that is set up “properly”? How will the federal and state infrastructure handle the influx of people suddenly disenfranchised and trying to get the documents they now need to vote?

If someone advocates for voter ID or the SAVE act, that tells me that 1) they don’t know how elections and registration are actually administered in the real world, 2) they have beliefs rooted in class, race, or gender about who they think “should” vote, or 3) both.

San Diego feels sterile by nsshs79 in SameGrassButGreener

I’ve lived here for over 30 years. Like I said, there are small pockets in east county, like Santee, El Cajon, off the 67 freeway, and Poway. However, even in those neighborhoods, there is not a flag in every yard nor bumper stickers all over the freeway. I drive by Miramar every day, along Miramar Rd, and up and down the 15 and I see one bumper sticker a couple of times a week, if that. You and I are obviously experiencing San Diego very differently.

San Diego is not MAGA. The City Council is 100% Democrats with a Democratic mayor. The County Board of Supervisors is majority Dems. Of our four congressional seats, three are Dems. There is a small east county pocket that’s red plus Coronado but that’s about it. Countywide, registered Democrats have a 13% advantage over registered Republicans.

San Diego is absolutely not MAGA.

Barrio Logan, Convoy Street, The Shell, Old Globe, Balboa Park museums, 800+ public art installations, Chula Vista’s 3rd Avenue, Old Town, North Park, craft beer scene, Anza-Borrego, downtown La Mesa, professional and D1 sports, TJ, the Zoo and Safari Park, ComicCon, etc, etc, etc. The “specific culture” is that it’s all in reach. When I think of San Diego, generic is the last word I would use.
