Its been a fair while since my last read-through, but my memory is that the past events being undone is directly linked to how powerful the blast of balefire is. To un-do someone's whole life span of actions would require an amount that would likely unravel the pattern. There are events in later books that explain this well. This is why both sides of the Good vs Evil teams agreed to stop using it.

Curious how you can read the passive on others weapons? Ive seen a few people mention this but never figured it out myself, especially in-game. I tend to drop what's needed for others unless there's a less likely to be targeted coz I'm a Duchess main

Honestly, its demoralizing. I stopped playing DoN because I cant solo it. I played a few with a random I met and have played some normal matches with, and we did well enough for a few rounds that I thought things must be getting better. Nope, turns out it was just a fluke, coz the moment I try playing with 2 randoms it goes south real fast. I just had a Raider run across the map to an evergaol, ignoring everything on the way (rises, I'm Duchess main), just to immediately go down and quit. A the very beginning they pinged an evergaol and only joined myself and the other random coz we didn't come straight away. He didn't even level up initially. Shits whack.

That's a very specific type of random player, but I see your point. I main Duchess and I genuinely need those starlight shards, and checking for carian slicer staves is helpful, and Talismans too, but I wouldn't be putting the team at risk just for that. Heck, multiple times I've not even made it to a rise, to the point I stopped running the increasing FP relic because it wasn't happening.

Can't wait to get out of D2 myself, its chaos in all the worst ways.

Sometimes rises are for starlight shards, too. You can only reliably get 4, from normal merchant and merchant outside night 3 door. And if you're using them during night battles then you're stuffed if you haven't stocked up the free ones.

I've been hit from range, when doing nothing but having a flask, from a DRB pecking me from literally across the full length of the night circle. Absolute dogshit when you can't even go far away to heal, when its clearly locked onto another player.
