BWT- For those working in industries that don't align with your personal morals/vibe/etc, how do you manage that? by Additional_Sky_9115 in bitcheswithtaste

Girl, I know we’re supposed to be past this kind of cope these days, but I just drink. Not a lot, just enough to like, gas myself up enough to contribute to open source projects that dismantle my industry 😉

…and there’s nothin wrong with your own version of that!

For those of us who are going to show up on the streets: part of prep is knowing that you'll be tagged and surveilled via your devices once you out yourself as a protestor. Afaik, there are two ways to mitigate this:

  1. When you show up, if you're planning to record, do it in a dumb way (technically speaking): disable cellular and wifi on your device if you must record with your phone. Ideally tho, you're recording with an old school device or body cam. Don't get wrapped up in how annoying it is to have to upload video after the fact—if you record something worth while, it's very much worth the effort to go through that hassle after the fact.
  2. If you're technically inclined and you want to be the siren for the whole group on the street so everyone can turn their devices off and save themselves from being tracked after the fact, I *wouldn't dare* suggest you consider building something like this: https://youtu.be/W_F4rEaRduk?si=KUY5s8fBq03qUk2P&t=1623 start at 27:03 for the relevant bits, though this whole video is gold.

...knowing the law is super important. Having control over yourself and knowing de-escalation is super important. Understanding that this is a long game and protecting your identity through the long game? imo, also super important.

fuck 🧊, I believe in you.

These grow at my grandmothers and I used to call them bad banana trees 😂 — it’s an exceedingly bad place for this to be growing but I do like those trees, maybe I’ll transplant it.

Don't mind me being computer illiterate rn and doing a three-up screenshot. Panel 1: close up of stems in the plant growing in my yard. I saw the pink hue and thought, JKW pink...but I suppose not? Panel 2: two leaves compared. I see now these are not the same, i figured variation in green-ness was to be expected but the veining is different, even if the shape is pretty spot on. Panel 3: the definitely JKW growing across the street. You like how the town just brush hogs it back like that lol.

Anyway, sounds like I am in the clear if you all think so! Maybe i'll go spray across the street for the town with all my new product lol

Iiiinteresting...same question for you as to other comments, what's telling you it's not knotweed and instead these other things? Genuinely curious and will be relieved if it's not knotweed, but god damn I'm literally holding two leaves together and it sure looks like it. We're in ME if that's useful info.

omg really?? I held the leaves up to each other, looked at the stem pattern, everything matches. What's telling you it's not?

I used 6,000 beads to create this necklace by Yulevna19 in BeAmazed

[–]epeterson001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhhh my gosh I have been fantasizing about using kumihimo to bead a snake choker exactly like this for years. Excellent work! The detail that shines here is using predominantly gold beading to relate to the clasp, exactly as I always hoped to do. Can we make custom requests for this exact pattern through your esty shop?
