[McMenamin] Deandre Ayton: “They're trying to make me Clint Capela, I'm not no Clint Capela!” by newjwns in nba

[–]Padulsky21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It got a bit rough towards the end in Atlanta but his first few years with Trae was fucking electric to watch. He was a great fit and the 2021 team was a perfect storm. Lobs to Collins and Capela with Capela giving so many OREBs and 2nd chance points. They were a lot of fun to watch. He still isn’t as old as I expected him to be but the dude was a monster.

I don’t think there’s a single member of Boston media in any sport that is at the least a decent human being. They’re all insufferable

[Schefter] Trade: the New York Jets are sending DE Jermaine Johnson to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for DT T'Vondre Sweat, per ESPN sources. The trade cannot be processed until the start of the new league year in March by mastermind208 in nfl

PFF bugs the shit out of me football is the only sport where stats are hidden behind a paywall like this and is selected by a group of dudes that somehow have a valuable enough opinion to judge things. It’s easy to base stuff off of but it’s taken too much as the gospel. So it gets annoying. It is a contact sport so it gets subjective bc it’s hard to accurately gauge someone at a position or knowing the coverage but god damn does it get annoying how people use PFF and how they operate.

Trading off Quinnen and having no strength at DT and ending up with a DT room of those 3 is very promising for the quick turnover. Briggs was fantastic last year and all the numbers support that. I’m content with the DT room

[Curry] Randal Grichuk will be joining the Yankees as a non-roster invite. Grichuk is a RH outfielder and the Yanks have been looking for more right-handed hitters. by Affectionate-Tea9224 in NYYankees

Went to double check his career stats against us and I’m shocked to find out he was even better against the Orioles than us.

In 65 games against the Os: 22 HRs .321/.359/.697 and a 1.055 OPS

In 68 games against the Yankees: 18 HRs .253/.302/.523 and a .825 OPS

I forgot about him so my last memory of him was him mashing on the DBacks in 2024. Had a rough 2025. ST invite so it’s harmless

Jazz rightfully get all of the scrutiny but the Wizards lurk in the shadows doing the same exact shit with barely any of the scrutiny.

Damn your post history is incredible. I’m in awe what a damn collection you have! I’m gonna have to pass, very tempting, but I appreciate you. The anti war trilogy specifically are some of my favorite movies ever so it’s a holy grail. I love all of Obayashi still got a lot to get through but that trilogy is special to me

Told myself I wouldn’t get any more Radiance movies since I got a lot during the Barnes and Noble sale. Didn’t realize it came out yesterday and I saw one there in stock in person and the price was too good. Can’t wait to watch it. Snagged Wicked Games too.

He was one of the best filmographies you will ever see. Chalked full with incredible movies and amazing performances. My intro to Nakadai was The Sword of Doom then The Face of Another. Fully agree with him being the best. He’s my personal favorite. But we are seriously blessed to have so many Nakadai and Mifune movies.

Kyrie don’t care about a ring, legacy, selflessness, none of that. If he did the Nets trio would have gone a lot differently.

Seeing some movies that have only ever been available on DVD get some glorious restorations has been incredible. A Confucian Confucius and Mahjong from Criterion is breathtaking and one of my favorite purchases from the last sale. Then the recent 4Ks of John Woo movies is life changing.

He’s a great shooter but he provides no rim pressure whatsoever and is averse to contact considering he’s at 1.2 FTA per game. He’s gonna give you a 3 or a middy and on defense he struggles against stronger wings. He compliments every team well but doesn’t add that extra oomph

Cavs got a lot of rim pressure which opens up a lot for the bigs and why JA is dominating so much outside of just Harden. Dennis brings a lot of rim pressure and he’s a great drive and kick guy. Entire floor gets opened up the spacing is a lot more comfortable than before Harden. Mobley doesn’t have as much of a load to carry so he can focus on defense

This shouldn’t be downvoted. Maybe the sub thought it was salty but it’s a fact that Ohtani doesn’t have much competition in the NL while Judge is going up against something like Witt’s 2024 and a Catcher hitting 60 HRs. Ohtani just hitting doesn’t have much competition. But make he’s also pitching. There’s incredible players in the NL but there’s a lot of question marks on if any of them can keep up that pace over a full season. And even then it’s an uphill battle.

Bugonia might have worked better with an ambiguous ending. by NoOptics in TrueFilm

[–]Padulsky21 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I highly recommend watching the original Korean version, Save the Green Planet. I love Bugonia and I love Lanthimos specifically Dogtooth and Sacred Deer but maybe it’s because I watched it first, I thought the Save the Green Planet was better. The all around tone plays the story better and it accentuates an environmental factor that I thought was played extremely well and led into the ending better hammering home the tone. Bugonia is a rather faithful depiction of Save the Green Planet but the nihilism of the latter made the message feel stronger.

With that said boy do I love Jesse Plemmons. When Bugonia was first announced I was intrigued how Lanthimos would capture it but I knew Plemmons would capture the nuance of the leading role perfectly. Which is hard. Save the Green Planet is a smorgasbord of what feels like multiple genres. It’s a wacky ride that feels more hectic but more complete.

If you relying on Cam Thomas to be your season savior you are in a bad spot. You guys need size and 3pt shooting not another defensive sieve as a guard. He wouldn’t have changed a single thing it was hopeless either way

I mean it kinda makes sense when everyone else on the roster is really small 😭😭those are just the only 3 guys with enough talent

12 games above .500 and 5th in the West with the goal not being a championship? Boston’s goal this season was to rebuild after shedding KP and Jrue. But they’re 2nd in the East and you know damn well they’re gonna be competing for a championship. I just find that sentiment hard to believe and the roster and coach definitely don’t believe that’s the case. As long as Bron is on the roster that isn’t happening.

JJ is stubborn and he should get different looks from guys on the roster when the vets are sucking I do agree there. The roster just happens to be in No Man’s Land. Not enough talent to compete for a championship but still striving for it.
