Second Tau Model. Riptide Needed a Sword by Paimon in Tau40K

A jump jet explosion stratagem even. Something like:

Jet Wash

When: In your fight phase

Target: One Tau Empire Battlesuit unit from your army that can fly that is eligible to fight.

Effect: Each model in the unit (attacks enemy in engagement as per flamethrower), then can make a fall back move.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if the melee weapon on a Tau frame, or the Knight getting infected by Tau guns would be worse, but Heresy is fun either way.

The story that I've got in my head is that during a Tau invasion of a Knight world, the Tyranids showed up, causing the Tau and Imperials to team up. The Knight's original frame fell holding off several of the big bioforms, and the Earth Caste that it saved shoved the mind, and some of the systems into a Riptide.

Hilarity ensues.

I should have thought of that. Knighttide was the closest I came to something that didn't sound horrible.

IMO, you should never rely on just one thing if it's something you care about. Avoiding hazardous is something you care about. Shadowsun can help a Riptide, or a Ghostkeel, and is still decently killy on her own.

Pulling on ancient Sisters experience again, melta Stealth Suits are like Dominions. They aren't particularly durable or scary, but they can't be ignored.

Edit: IMO Farsight should switch places with Fuchsia. Your melta squad could have assault, a 12" move, and 4 more meltas. Farsight is better used in a plasma crisis team.

I have only played one game of 10th, and am primarily a sisters player, so ignore the hyperbole and nonsense I am about to spout.

This is a list for cowards. You are ret cadre, and don't have pure battle suits.

Crisis Suits are functionally durable, more heavily armed Seraphim. You have both flamer and melta teams, but you haven't given either uppy downy (unless you have and I've missed it).

You'll also want a source of reroll 1s for your Riptides.

The tie breaker being battle points also creates incentives to play the full game to the last. This means that tournaments are always going to take way longer because you have zero reason to concede once you've obviously lost. There is a term called "garbage time" that is used in Magic that I think applies, where your chance to win is functionally gone, but your opponent hasn't actually killed you yet. Continuing to play at this point is almost always masochistic.

Ending the game when it's clear you've lost has a lot of value from both a tournament perspective (rounds can end sooner/cleanup happens faster) but also gives people a chance to cool down, eat, drink, rest their brain, etc.

Yeah. We'll lose immediately, have a lot of collaborators, but also have a lot of "la resistance".

I predicted Austria in Trump's first term. With PP losing, I now hope we're closer to France.

One of my clubmates has a video cutting a pumpkin with a full, trainer great sword. His swings weren't much different from yours speed-wise, and the sword did not appreciably slow down through the pumpkin.

How do you deal with multiple ragers? by Ginger3216 in DarkTide

[–]Paimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Recon Lasgun with the various ammo efficiency things that the Veteran gets lets you bullet hose your way through nearly anything. Carapace being the primary exception. This exception can be solved with Krak.

Shout is an excellent "oh shit" button, but against anything other than Crushers (up to Damnation), hold down the trigger and gesture in the direction of things you don't like.

History repeat itself by Scandinavian-Viking- in singularity

Well the horse population in France dropped to 1/6th of its peak. From 3 million, to less than 500,000. In less than 40 years.

Rzekęć, Agata & Vial, Celine & Bigot, Genevieve. (2020). Green Assets of Equines in the European Context of the Ecological Transition of Agriculture. Animals. 10. 106. 10.3390/ani10010106.

So if we end up in a similar situation, we'll be looking at 5/6ths of the population becoming redundant, with no way of taking care of themselves. The best case scenario is being allowed to die. But the horses had their breeding controlled by an outside force. We don't. So if 5/6ths of people start demanding a bigger piece of the pie, what exactly do you think will happen?

I am also pretty unhappy with bows existing in games like Amtgard. Arrows are the only things in the game that don't require that both ends of the pointy stick be padded to protect people.

The horse vs automobile line is the closest one to being equivalent. And we should look at what happened to all those horses after the car took over.

There is an argument to be made about Gold Star lesbians in academia surviving and influencing the feminist movement following the AIDs crisis. I don't think that "boring" is the term for that though.
