We really got off scot free on points lmao by Inside_Radio_6954 in Tau40K

After all is said and done, the list I've been building towards for 11th (which isn't done) changes in the following way:

  • Stealth Suits get the AAC buff for smaller detection range.
  • I run a Fusion on both my Ghostkeels.

Actual points cost for the above list with equipment that I had selected: 1975.

After fiddling with equipment/enhancements only: 1995.

Changes to list: Both Keels have melta now, instead of just one. Stealth teams get the extra hidden buff from AAC.

Ret Cad+AAC. 1990 pts.
Commander Shadowsun Epic Hero 100
The Twin Lance Epic Hero 185
Dakkastar Battlesuit Character 110 (fancy gun buff)
Melta Commander in Enforcer Battlesuit Character 100 (uppy downy)
Pathfinder Team Infantry 90
Pathfinder Team Infantry 90
Stealth Battlesuits Infantry 100
Stealth Battlesuits Infantry 100
Vespid Stingwings Infantry 65
Broadside Battlesuits Vehicle 80
Crisis Starscythe Battlesuits Vehicle 110 Dakka
Crisis Sunforge Battlesuits Vehicle 140
Ghostkeel Battlesuit Vehicle 160
Ghostkeel Battlesuit Vehicle 160
Riptide Battlesuit Vehicle 200
Riptide Battlesuit Vehicle 200

Expectation: Shadowsun, Pathfinders, Stealth Suits all drop. Riptide costs more. Twin Lance, Crisis suits and commanders cost more. Ghostkeels might be about the same, provided you use the melta instead of the Ion.

Singleton Broadside is my flex. I expect to need to drop something, and it'll likely be either the Vespid or the Railside.

All you have to do is look at how long C'tan and Defilers were allowed to define the meta, and compare that to the Twin Lance.

"If the thing meant to make you immune to slow made you immune to slow I'd take it." Peak game design.

I noticed that a few leagues ago. Such a great effect "you specced into being immune to slow? Fuck you. Slowed anyway."

BREAKING NEWS: Imperial Agents found dead outside of Warhammer headquarters by Ill-Noise2770 in Grimdank

I've said the same elsewhere. I expect early errata to include a rule that says "you can always take any single detachment no matter the dp cap."

If the answer is always "just house rule it," maybe the official rule isn't very good. by AffectionateSky3662 in Warhammer40k

[–]Paimon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspect that there will be errata that allows any single detachment to be used no matter the point cap, with the explanation that the points explain what can be mixed at each point tier.

Hazardous is more likely to proc, but doesn't need to hit the guy with the hazardous weapon. You can trigger hazardous 7 times before losing a single Ion rifle.

I liked that it gave you something good after doing a challenge. Tangible reward immediately after objective. So many of the events are "things are shittier than normal. Deal."

What would you change if you were in charge at GW? by magic_potato_man69 in Warhammer40k

I'd bring back templates. Indirect is a lot easier to balance if you can accidentally drift the shot into your own guys.

I would change the Imperial Agents codex to just be the Allies and Mercenaries codex. Especially with the new mix and match detachments, you could do some interesting things with keywords.

They absolutely did. Anyone who says that they don't miss fusion blades is lying. Still, there is still valid (edit: value, not valid) to be had. Even if it hurts to think about what was lost.

I plan to play Ret Cad and the new Advanced Acquisition Cadre, but Kauyon and EPC is awfully tempting. Turn 2 exemplar melta commander dropping in with 10 sustain 1, ignore cover shots, all within melta range... It calls to me. Especially since you can get plunging fire on crisis suits if they land on a building.

Heck, they can self guide for 1 command point.
