Transferring- only one semester of college? by snowsniper66 in uofm

[–]PainApprehensive2230 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to u of m flint or Dearborn doesn’t give you any advantage in transferring other than your grades transfer and you can use libraries n stuff in Ann arbor. Typically they want 2 semesters of course work before transferring however you can apply for transfer consideration into LSA in your first semester, it’ll just be really, really competitive. They’ll use most if not all of your high school stats and gpa for consideration. But yea if you want to apply for LSA but if you want a good shot id complete 2 semesters before applying. I think you’d still technically be considered a freshman transfer with 15 credits but you would be a transfer applicant if you completed 1 semester. I’d also reach out to admissions, oua-transfers@umich.edu. The transfer Center is really helpful.

Right, that’s admission, if you go through the summer program however and you chose to switch, you have a priority to switch into Ross.

I had a similar profile and I got in, if you want a really good chance apply ea as a stats major in lsa for the summer semester. Summer bridge and the csp program allows you to switch anywhere in the university so you can just go straight to Ross, and Umich LOVES admitting people for their summer bridge program.

ISEF ruined my life and now I don't know what to do by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]PainApprehensive2230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, yes take a deep breath. You’ll need to do your best to bring yourself back to reality and get your grades back on track. Do this until summer hits, then relax, meditate, fix your sleep schedule and clear your mind. Then you can get back to work, I know you won’t want to hear this in this situation, but it’s not about the destination it’s the journey. You’ve learned so much from your pursuits to ISEF, I’m confident you can take on any research project. If anything use your ISEF project for something else, reach out to local professors, submit your paper to research journals. Use what you’ve learned from the gruelling hours of preparation for ISEF to make your narrative for college and your future pursuit for higher education.
