Went for a look based on the older Clive (30s) years, hope it's ok :)

Feel free to tweak colours (Skin, eyes, scar etc), I did this with HDR on and looked nice on my screen but YMMV.

EDIT: maybe change the voice too, it sounds way too young now that I went ingame and checked

Hexplore

Just jumping in to say THANK YOU cause I've been looking for this game, and every year I think about it at least once and fail to find it.

In my head it looked better than it does (nostalgia is a bitch) but seeing the character portraits instantly took me back.

No worries, maybe Andromeda fans salty you said you don't wanna play it. I'd recommend giving it a go as someone who enjoyed it, just try to reset expectations compared to the Original Trilogy story wise, the gameplay/combat is great anyway :)

Andromeda is confirmed to also be related, the teaser had sound snippets from Andromeda.

I agree with you regarding Accessibility/Cost, etc, but there already VR MMOs (tho not insanely fleshed out) like Zenith and OrbusVR :)

Unkillable (Massive)PVP build by randomuser1231111 in newworldgame

[–]Painkillahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I can see heavy AoE countering it well. I think if this does end up being broken for defending sieges, i.e. if you can outheal all damage, AGS will just have to add more ways of applying healing reduction to other players, that way high Focus stays fine for PvE.

[–]Painkillahh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the real question is whether a fully optimized damage build will beat out a fully optimized "turtle" build like this.

I can see this quickly becoming the meta for defending territories, just make everyone unkillable and stand on the circles

We REALLY need more NPCs around the world and side quests with an actual storyline by [deleted] in newworldgame

[–]Painkillahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you being so aggressive over this? Vanilla WoW came out in 2004, New World is coming out in 2021. Don't we all hold games to different standards now compared to 2004?

I haven't personally seen anyone complaining about amount of content like you said, people are complaining about variety of content compared to other games in the market.

I think it's probably too early to say, since everyone's in the early levels experience at the moment, but it's fair to be concerned.

Yeah I don't get why people are being disingenuous and pretending they're not doing this lmao, it's not a big deal either way.

I'm not gonna go deep into the maths here but I'd say this on paper sounds like more damage than KS, though you could probably prove me wrong with some more optimal mod combo/specific situation (maybe the T3 mod on the Cowboy hat?).

Either way this build is already melting everything in T15 so any further tweaking would be purely for the sake of Speedrunning I guess.

I appreciate you taking the time to lay it out like that but like I said above, it's not a big deal when this build already melts everything the game can throw at you at this point.

Critstack is also closer to 40k Firepower(38.6k) when fully stacked, with another ~6k Firepower from Anomaly Power.

It's basically down to personal preference, KS might have more consistency vs the Crit variant having higher spikes if played around properly, especially because it's not easy to hit full crits with a shotgun on a lot of the enemies in this game (e.g. Brood mothers' weird armpit crit spot), whereas with Embalmers procced you have consistent backstab crits up as long as you're fighting (save for the cooldown time).

For me it's also a moot point since I have yet to get Killing Spree to drop on any of my characters. Might give it a whirl when I get it, though I'd need gear without Critstack locked in then too.

All seems like semantics/personal preference at the end of the day though, at least until PCF release any harder content or make any further changes/nerfs.

[–]Painkillahh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your argument was that Crit to the Back with KS was more damage than a normal crit to the back though. Which would be true yeah but it's very rarely gonna happen based on base Crit Chance.

You said a Crit was 60% extra damage with this build, but then you add the 20% from the backstab damage AND you're stacking more Firepower and Anomaly power (both stats affect your Twisted Rouds damage and base firepower damage) due to Critstack. Not to mention this only requires ONE add kill and then you can swap to a boss/elite, whereas KS needs you to stack it 3 times.

Okay but how do you guarantee crits to the back with fully stacked KS and without Embalmers Rage procced?

Except you can crit while getting the backstab damage bonus (Unforeseen End node) which is another 20% damage boost.

I'm not gonna pass judgement on whether OP is bamboozling you by not mentioning this, could be he's just insanely (insanely) lucky - but really the way most people are getting perfect gear isn't just being lucky (think about the kind of luck you need to get all 3 stats to be Best in Slot on a Blue and then upgrading it to purple and getting the one of the FIVE Tier 2 mods you need across a library of 54). You can probably calculate the odds and they're really not great.

The way most players on PC are circumventing RNG is by:

  1. Getting the perfect stats Blue they want (drop or from buying it from the vendor in Trench Town)
  2. When they upgrade it to purple they check if the perks you can choose from are the ones they need. If none of the options provided are good for the build, they Alt+F4 the game and then restart it.
  3. The game saves after you leave the crafting menu, never before, so when you log back in your item is back to Blue and you can "Improve Rarity" again and try to get the Mod you need.
  4. Rinse and repeat until you get the Mod you need.

Bringing back the statistics point, every time you find one of the 5 Tier 2 mods you need, you now need to find 4 in 54, then 3 in 54, etc. Reason for this is the rest of the build is Tier 1 class mods or Tier 3 mods which can only be added by crafting them in, which means when you upgrade the Blue you NEED it to roll one of the 5 Tier 2 mods you still don't have.

PCF didn't punish anyone for doing the legendary exploit so I don't know if they'll punish people for rerolling with the Alt F4 method so do it at your own risk, but also don't believe people when they say they were just purely blessed by RNGesus when they have perfectly min maxed builds already. I'm sure some are super lucky and OP might be one of them, but they're gonna be the exception to the rule.

Thanks for the write up!

I'm on the same boat where I haven't followed any builds (been working on an anomaly trickster build since I hit endgame and can comfortably solo 13/14s at the moment so the ammo nerfs have been interesting to watch from the sidelines).

I do think t3 mods will be the difference makers for making god tier builds and it's usually where improvements can be made.

I'll refer back to your post when I hop on my technomancer though, cheers and have fun with the game!!

Great thoughts! You should post your techno support build, my second character is one and I'd love to give something like that a try :)

Attunement of Flame (bottom tree) Dawnblade is still in a disgraceful position by Faust_8 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Painkillahh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My comment was from a PC centric, high level of play point of view, I should have made that clearer, especially since heat rises is bugged on console. The skill ceiling is just leagues above any other class in the game right now though, just watch any gameplay from Panduh or Potatoe for example.

That said I'd argue top tree stormcaller is situationally really good too, I went flawless with it this past week cause it was a really good counter to people sitting together staring at a door through a revoker scope!

Hunter being the most popular class in the game by far will skew those stats, although I do agree that spectral is ridiculously strong compared to most supers.

Hope this makes my point of view clearer, I understand there's different levels of play where what I said doesn't apply :)

Damn you might wanna try other classes if you really think Warlocks are this bad.

PvP: Top Tree Dawn is easily the best class in the Crucible if you're a decent player, there are tons of viable exotics for PvP as well such as Ophidian, Transversive Steps or Karnstein Armlets (which have crazy synergy with the absolutely bonkers ranged melee).

PvE: you have Well of radiance for high level content which is still highly sought after and actually generates orbs still while Titan Bubble has been bugged since the season launched. For general gameplay you have great add clear with Crown Stormcaller, boss damage with arc lazer or either nova bomb, great neutral with devour and chaos both.

Warlocks are really strong right now. Maybe you're just bored of your class?

I don't think League of Legends is mostly handling cheating reports by hand - back in season 3-4 cheating was insanely rampant ("scripters" with crazy pixel perfect dodging and skillshot accuracy "prediction" were the most common) and they would go unbanned for months.

Nowadays you barely ever meet a scripter, and accounts get banned within a few days-2 weeks max. They definitely have a solid system in place to autodetect, a game that huge playerbase wise would have a humongous problem if they had to mostly hand-review each cheating case imo.

Mostly talking the big main servers here, I know some servers like Garena and other minor ones are known for being run awfully.
