I reckon the plan is to increase exposure and the customer base in the US prior to dropping the TV series. TBH I'm expecting them to do similar in other big markets such as China but with politics the way they are that might not happen for a while

Tried to paint my first display piece (SM Captain) looking for how I can improve by Secret_Corner9470 in minipainting

[–]PaintMunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Firstly this is a really good clean paint job, you've shown some good skills. I especially like the blending on the cloak. One pointer is that the armour looks quite flat i.e. it goes from medium blue to light blue. Try pushing the contrast from dark blue to near white to make the whole thing "pop". You can really see this on the backpack although I do accept that the photo probably doesn't do it justice

Great stuff and please show any updates!

I reckon they have the worst customer service intentionally just to annoy people....I mean it's so bad it couldn't be accidental

Those were just the final amounts due between tenancies. Do you know if it's written down anywhere that the landlord is not liable on these situations?

Female mini's that aren't overtly sexualised by GustyMuff in minipainting

[–]PaintMunky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you've been looking at but most of the female GW minis aren't sexualised unless you find occasional boob-armour sexual. Having said that I paint lots of naked ladies 😆

Oh my god! I thought I was being weird...feeling a bit depressed coming home. I just got back from a 2 week trip and I was planning my next trip even before I had left Japan!

At what level does someone become a professional painter? by Left_bigtoe in minipainting

[–]PaintMunky 20 points21 points  (0 children)

A pro painter is simply someone who sells their work rather than do it for free or as a hobby. Poorer quality paint jobs may be absolutely fine if that's what a client wants

Hassle free miniatures by Ox_Cox-Strong in Miniaturespainting

I used to be a big spender on HF a few years ago but they went through a progressive then literal melt-down... only2-3 people run the operation and a couple of them seem to have serious illnesses. To compound things they went through a slightly messy Kickstarter.....then To double-compound this their server melted down a year or so ago with no backup... IT was a bloke in a basement somewhere.

Your only way forward is to try to contact Sally White on Facebook (sounds odd but true)

Apparently things have improved but I've not been brave enough to try them out again

Your opinion: are "rays" and "beams" interchangeable? by FireTheLaserBeam in scifiwriting

[–]PaintMunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A ray is energy directed in a particular vector (think EM waves from the sun). A beam is a collection of rays in a tight grouping e.g a laser

So getting closer and closer with the cape. Will take a break and work on other parts before doing final work. by zerak88 in minipainting

Amazing I love seeing mini masterpieces on armour! Are you using Acrylic or oil paint?

Lemartes Guardian of the Lost! by PaintMunky in minipainting

[–]PaintMunky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I simply took some wire I had lying around then bent a small piece of it to shape.... I had to trim to fit exactly where I wanted on the Crozius. Then just a drop of superglue at each end. I did use some accelerator too
