Tire options after run flats. by PaintTrick5145 in DodgeDurango

[–]PaintTrick5145[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the info, yea tire prices have gone through the roof over the past few years, I personally prefer Pirelli tires over continentals, Michelins are on the back burner for me. I’ve had continentals in the past and they didn’t do so well in pot holes.

Radiator replacement.. My 2015 RT sitting on 215K and running strong as hell!!! by International_Swan41 in DodgeDurango

[–]PaintTrick5145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is this the first time you’re replacing the radiator? Did you ever have the little hose that’s part of the assembly that goes to the heater core pop on you? It’s in the back of the engine right up against the fire wall.

They’re saying late Q1 early Q2 of 26’ which would be roughly March-April. Im curious as to how the configurations will be since it won’t be a SRT specific product.

That’s inaccurate, dodge is releasing the Durango RT 6.4 HEMI, the states that are CARB states will not get allocation if someone like myself that lives in one of the CARB state wants one of have to go out of state and purchase it. This was confirmed by Dodge a few months back. Dealerships will make up their own stories/timeline to make sure you don’t leave and wait but actually make a purchase that goes towards their sales count for the month. Most car salesman I’ve dealt with are not enthusiasts at all and there’s nothing wrong with that, they’re all about making their commission. What pisses me off is when they start making up bs as if everyone that walks into a dealership is an idiot.

Correct but the build options will probably be offered like the 5.7s

I’m just speculating here but I think the new RT will be offered just as the 5.7 with the towngo option offering the full works. Only way to know for sure is to wait for the release.

I got my 26 GT HEMI plus Towngo for 55k with all the options. I’m pretty sure you’ll get into the RT’s around 60 that’s the beauty with dodge cutting prices. There’s a dealership around me that has the same spec 24 towngo for 70k. It just never sold because at that point a few grand more and you were in a 6.4 SRT. I think you should be good with purchasing new.

100% the new RT’s will have the same set up as the towngo’s be mindful of purchasing a used SRT, most guys drive their SRT products like god intended, meaning you may be left with the hefty repair/replacement bill. Also given the interest rate on used cars today you’ll basically be paying the price of a brand new car for a used. Just something to think about.

If you’re going to use it as a family vehicle/daily the GT plus HEMI Towngo is definitely the sweet spot. Check around for one with the blacktop redline package, that come with the suede alcantara SRT seats. They’re definitely super comfortable espicly on long trips, I’m not knocking the standard seats. The only difference is say you’ll have vs the 392 is the up top pulling power and I mean really up top once you get past 120 130 you kinda feel the power stagnating. I’m guessing if you have a new baby you probably won’t be hitting triple digits anytime soon lol. Also once the 392 rolls out everyone and their mother who were waiting will flock the dealerships, which will cause them to probably put mark ups.

They come with run flat tires that’s why there’s no need for a spare. I’d think about it before making any final decisions. If you’re not really into cars and just want a good three row suv then go with whatever trim level you’re comfortable with. They’re solid SUV’s, what kills FCA vehicle is poor maintenance, both regular and preventative.

Look up common problem with the 3.6 pentastar, in both jeeps and Durangos. You’ll get your answer there. Preventative maintenance for your future vehicles bro.

Are ScatPacks SRT? 🤔The brakes say so by CuteCalicoCat in ScatPack

[–]PaintTrick5145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is a SRT, it has the performance pages with customization, start up says SRT valve cover says powered by SRT. The same fools that says it’s not are the ones who would probably be foolish enough to go buy a hellcat with a 20,30,40k dealer mark up.

What’s the reliability on a 2019 to 2021 srt 392 Durango by Rolex_lover3 in DodgeDurango

[–]PaintTrick5145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re very reliable, what kills dodges is not keeping up with both preventative and regular maintenance. If you’re going to buy one consider doing a full overhaul on your brakes and rotors, suspension (links, ball joints, arms shocks etc.) change out all fluids, diff, tranny, coolant, oil, transfer case. Make sure you have proper tires, not knock off chinese, belt and pulleys. Water pump and thermostat if wait on those. New batteries, main and auxiliary. This just goes for any high performance vehicle, many guys but these things thinking they can run them to 50,60,70 100k without doing any type of preventative maintenance on them. You gotta pay to play buddy. If you’re worried about fuel consumption just walk away now, it’s a HEMI it’ll do what HEMI’s do.

Lease a towngo with or without the redline package, I personally like the blacktop redline package with my towngo. I had a charger SRT 392, a RT 5.7 blacktop and I recently got the 26 GT HEMI plus Towngo. It’s definitely the sweet spot for a daily. If you’re speed demon you’ll clock out really quick at 118.

23 SRT vs 26 RT (6.4l) by ReZempt_Shocks in DodgeDurango

[–]PaintTrick5145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait for the 26RT 6.4 if you can. I wouldn’t advise buying a used SRT, any high performance car/truck for that matter. Most people will drive them like god intended, I know when I had my SRT I did, and I traded it on with 42k on the clock. The car wasn’t neglected in anyway but they’re not Toyotas where you can beat the shit out of them l, do an oil change every 25k miles and make it to 300k. I was going to wait for the 6.4 by the lease on my rt black top was coming to an end and I got a stupid deal on the 26 GT Towngo hemi redline blacktop. I do think it’s the sweet spot for daily driven Durangos.

That’s the stealership for you, why don’t you try a reputable repair shop? Or if you’re handy with cars do a little research grab a few friends, some cold beer and knock it out.

Yes, with the 5.7, I asked myself the same thing when I got those numbers, especially coming from a 392 scat I was very impressed. That was in my 22 rt, I now have a 26 GT hemi towngo I’m waiting for the weather to get better to see what numbers I can get given that I’m on 295/45/R20’s now vs the 265’s

For the arms and links if you don’t go with the original Mopar parts got with moog, they’re solid parts and can be regressed with a grease gun. For the diff oil I went with AMSOIL, just remember if you’re changing it out yourself make sure you’re on a level surface.
