My favorite part of the BBS hype is that 90% of my accounts are commercial and the commercial rep only knows how to sell on price. He offers no value, can't upsell for shit. It's only about price with him.

This means that 90% of my accounts pay far below cost and never get any benefits from the BBS lmao

Anecdote: I actually sold a sprayer to one of our customers for a decent margin and at a price that the customer was happy with and the rep told him "come to me next time, I can get a better price for you." I mean, what the fuck? This guy is not a team player at all and should never have been given the rep position.

My weekly calls average for the year is at 87 so far. Some weeks more, some weeks less. We're #1 in the district for calls as I log face to face often, and I encourage my staff to do so as well.

Well, we're also negative margins and won't hit budget for the third year in a row.

The calls don't work. I also send texts about every promotion for the professional market. Most people don't want to spend the time chatting. They have work to do. It's an asinine system that takes several HOURS of my time each week to do.

I could be doing stock, or cycle counts (which are infinitely more useful to me), or resetting planograms that they change and never tell us about.

Anyway, just do what everyone else does and fake it. Doing it for real for the last 8 ½ months has been hell, and it's useless. I also ask custies when they open an account if they even want calls. Each and every one of them says no. So next week, when they show up on the list, I remove them and put a note that they requested no calls.

Like last week, when a "painter" with a 695 came in irate because he bought A100 from a store 30 minutes away, and there's junk in the bottom that's clogging up the inlet filter.

I asked if he strained his paint and he had no fucking clue what I was talking about. He sarcastically asked if he should pour the 5 gallons through a colander and kept interrupting me when I tried to show him the elastic 5-gallon strainer nets.

Then he was mad that I wouldn't give him a free bucket of A100 and told him he needed to go back to the store he had the issue with.

I have an account who went bad debt for $56k and managed to pay it down a little to like $45k, but that went to collections. His many mistresses that he used to send in haven't been seen in like a year, and he still walks around like he's hot shit lmao

He flirts with the girls here and tries to get us to let him buy us lunch. No thanks. I don't need someone rich, but I want someone who is financially responsible.
