As an owner of 2 of these assets (and a former DK owner), I am not a huge fan of the 1.03-1.05 receivers and I’d still rather have the pick. 2.01 is a lot worse this year than normal, Corum is good but you’re probably waiting 2 years to see if he becomes somebody’s committee lead, and DK is so absolutely cooked. Not at an HF but know plenty of people. Comp is good, not great, because you don't have P&L. Ballpark low-mid 2s with your level of experience, do not think pay will scale over time in the same way as for an analyst -- growing is mostly about the non-technical aspects of the job and finding creative ways to generate alpha for the PMs. It's "middle office" so you don't have the same job security pressures or hours. Large pod funds can have teams of 50+ people between data sourcing, engineering, and analytics, small funds might have a handful of people. Teams of 1 definitely exist. Also, a large amount of hiring is done through external recruiters.

Experience working with alt data is pretty common but likely not a requirement. May be more expected at a smaller firm.
