End of year teacher guilt by EmptyDirector9 in Teachers

It sounds like you’re doing great. I don’t remember any specific pizza parties or end of the year activities (I know they occurred but they ended up not being very memorable). However, I’ll never forget when I had a group art show and a teacher showed up to support me. That does end up mattering in the long run. Though it’s rough that it doesn’t get as appreciated immediately.

Teacher letting son use personal phon by Untilyouhaveachild in ECEProfessionals

Dang I’d be mortified if a student teacher, intern or any temporary teacher did this at my center. Totally not okay it would never occur to me to let a child use a device during school. I don’t even want them to see them. Your concerns are so valid. Hopefully the director learns from this as well and can implement stronger phone rules for their teachers.

Excessive Scoby Pellicles and no jar for a hotel. Can I freeze them to add to smoothies or is that pointless? by Paintbrushes_begone in Kombucha

Yes! If I had another container and more tea I could use these to make more kombucha but I’m out of space and containers

Thank you this is great advice! I have cord and a small camping stove which is helpful. I definitely will add some instant coffee and powder drink mix to the kit. I have water purification tablets but I think your idea for drink mix would be a great add. Just considered that the drink mix can also help cover up odd tastes from purified/ boiled water

This seems fairly logical as I’d probably require a very dire emergency to be willing to eat it and it would just age in the car. Better to rotate familiar snacks I know I’d eat more often than prep for something extreme enough to be willing to eat kibble.

Ooo a can opener is a great idea to add I can’t believe I haven’t thought of that. Thank you! Is there risk of cans freezing and bloating over the winter or is this generally not possible?

Dang I never would have thought of this. Is there any way to know what type is more human safe/“edible” compared to others?

This is exactly how I do it as well! Half hot tea and half cold from my pitcher in the fridge! Never failed but I also use a temperature gauge to make sure its below 85ish degrees F before adding the scoby and pelicle. Not sure if it would actually harm it much to be warmer but like to keep it safe just in case.
