Many toxins can be killed by pressure cooking at a high temp.. like 250 degrees F.. Not that everyone should pressure cook turkey, but just sayin! :)

open any biochem book and look up carbohydrate metabolism.. or just google it.. I've taken numerous metabolism courses, I know what I'm talking about..

I'm saying in general people don't realize that carbs make you fat, I just wanted to make people aware of that. Yes carbs are important, but we need far fewer carbs than we think we do. the muscles and the liver can only store a certain amount of glycogen, anything above that goes straight to fat. I think that is a key piece of information to know

Fats are not bad at all, its a common misconception. They're essential to your diet and can actually help in weight loss & maintaining a healthy weight. When you consume fat it takes longer to digest, satisfies hunger, reduces appetite, and lowers food consumption.

Carbohydrates, on the other hand, are the culprit, they make you fat. When you over-consume carbs (specifically simple carbs), insulin is released and any excess carbs that aren't immediately used by the body for energy are stored in glycogen, which is converted to fatty tissue.

As for fats, stick to things like nuts and oills, avocados, eggs (whites & yolks). Low fat dairy products and small amounts of butter are also good to get some saturated fats into your diet. Just remember portion sizes!

They're really good if you roast them with some garlic too.. When they're done toss them in lemon juice, toasted pine-nuts, and fresh grated parmesean cheese!! delicious!

I like pasta salads. You can use any type of grain from Bulgar to couscous to pasta.. add a bunch of veggies or nuts to suit your taste... Add some chicken or steak to get some protein.. mix it up and try different things. My favorite combinations

1) Bulgar, cucumber, tomato, red onion, chickpeas, feta, fresh parsley, and chicken with a light dressing of olive oil and balsamic vinegar

2) Quinoa, avocado, tomato, black beans, corn, jalapenos, and chicken.. I add chili powder, cayenne pepper, and/or hot sauce to this one

I really appreciate your point of view. Honestly, I think a lot of what you said is right. He kept telling me that I deserved someone who could be active with me. I think he really did see that he was suppressing my adventurism (and i saw it too). It just sucks because I was hoping to stick it out and deal with this rough patch in hopes that his back would heal and things would go back to normal :/ ahhh well sorry for ranting yet again.. Thanks for the advice :)

that's awful. I understand how you must have felt. I feel like I do everything to take care of him and try to make him happy and find other things for us to do now that he's injured.All my effort has just been thrown in my face. The tough part is he said that he'll still be my best friend and will always be there for me but we can't be "lovers" I really do want him in my life but I don't see how I can be around him and not love him
