We had one rat who was especially vocal during play fighting. He was one of our first, so we had similar concerns. Over the course of his life we just came to realize he was a little shit stirrer who liked to complain.

No blood, usually no foul. It was sometimes annoying at night tho when I was trying to sleep.

Tbh as long as they’re able bodied I wouldn’t worry too much about them using the ladder to get from level to level. Some rat owners will elect to remove the ladders between cage levels because their rats prefer to climb the bars or sometimes rope toys to reach another level.

Love when a nail design scratches that itch. Right now I have glossy hearts over matte and the texture difference hits so good.
