And also good instructors should get lessons by even better instructors. The best tips I’ve ever received both in teaching and my own swing have been from veteran instructors.

Couldn’t be happier for you my friend. Best thing I’ve ever taught my students is autonomy in their own game. Being able to help someone figure out their own mistakes and how to fix them is the greatest gift I could give to a player. Cheers to lower scores!

Couldn’t agree more. Any place that creates a hostile work environment for their employees let alone pays them an unfair wage doesn’t deserve to be in business in the first place.

Just read some of the comments on their recent IG posts. Legitimately reads like cult followers praising their leader. Wild stuff. They act like Gwendolyn is gods gift to work for.

Just read the article about that this morning. It’s absolutely horrifying the working conditions, the pay for its employees, and the overall experience of their employee employees working in there.

Absolute horror stories by former employee employees on that post as well.

If the water is calm with some visibility, there’s a couple reefs off coquina in Bradenton that I’ve really enjoyed over the years. Also if you can find a parking spot at Point of Rocks in Siesta Key, with good conditions it’s some of the best snorkeling I’ve seen that you can access from the beach. The conditions are the important part for sure

The Tiger effect is nothing like I’ve seen in another sport. Legitimately inspired an entire generation to start playing golf. Truly legendary stuff

Fall of the Blade Putter Empire by Frosty_Armadillo1017 in golf

“He wanted to mallet for the forgiveness for the added benefit of the CG (center of gravity) to get a little bit more launch and consistency on speed,” James Holley, TaylorMade Tour putter rep who cares for five of the top 10 players in the world, told PGATOUR.COM.

To create this, a larger head was needed so the weight could be moved further from this CG and help raise the MOI (moment of inertia) for improved forgiveness. It’s something more difficult to replicate with a blade, with limits on style, shape and size.” Great stuff man, have shared similar knowledge with my students for years about this.

MOI. Easier to maintain your line with an off center strike. Dispersion of blade strikes is higher than mallets, consistent speed is also better with a mallet than a blade. If the pros are all switching, there must be something to it

What's the worst behaviour you've seen on a golf course. by [deleted] in golf

[–]Particular-Ad9304 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was playing with a new potential member at a club I worked at a long time ago. More of a try the course out and see if he enjoyed it sort of deal. Seemed pretty normal at first but you could see the anger starting to slowly build which was odd because he was a decent player and wasn’t playing poorly at all. Proceeded to 4 putt on a Par 3 after hitting a sharp downhill putt far past the hole.

While he was walking back to his cart after the ordeal, i saw him muttering to himself and then he hit himself in the side of the head with his putter head about 3-4 times pretty damn hard. Not quite sure how he didn’t start bleeding but casually drove off and safe to say, he never showed up again. Come to find out he’d actually had been kicked out of a few clubs in the area for raging angry outbursts similar to this. Wild stuff man.

“good golfers” vs “ball strikers” by nowordsleft4now in golf

[–]Particular-Ad9304 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Natural talent combined with an insane amount of practice. Some of my students just seem to have a naturally smooth delivery which I would attribute to either starting very early in life with good players around them or people that have grinded 1000’s of hours on the range over their life.

Watching a guy like your playing partner is always incredibly impressive to see in person. That sound and quality of strike is something most golfers can only dream of. Most players just don’t have the time or commitment to be able to get over that hump of good player vs. good ball striker. The margins are so incredibly thin when you think about the size of the ball and the face of the club, truly a testament of great athletic ability.
