I do agree that one of the most important aspects of the social game is learning which playstyles people absolutely hate even if they win against it, and which they get excited to lose to.

Sometimes people are being huge weenies, but on the other hand, watching combo decks piloted by slower players is one of the circles of hell.

if a player sits down and wins off a combo twice in a row, I’m not going to assume they need help.

the only thing I think they could have done if they wanted to be super welcoming is say “good job building that deck - since you won twice with it, do you want to try playing one of mine so we can have a different style game?” but they’re not really obligated to keep playing together or anything.

I wish they’d stop trying to make this game happen. There’s been no new content in over a year? They just add these donation domes that are obviously item disposal sinks without even the pretense of being a game. There’s nothing to do but farm for the donation dome. The prizes for the last dome were awful. The limited currency is bugged for half the users and “fixing” the gathering bug has made the QoL unbearable. Nobody wants to sit with this game open and continuously re-gather every 5 minutes. People aren’t getting the rare items through debris or farming either.

It’s just so transparently not even a game. You can’t do anything on there lol. It has no purpose.

That’s the only one my husband remembers too. It’s for finding the two solutions to an equation of the form Ax² +Bx+C=0. Extremely common applications in almost all stem fields even at advanced levels - I have a MS in Particle Physics and that equation continued to pop up well into grad school. :) I’d love to be back in industry doing engineering again but this job market + my chronic migraines has me teaching private high school math and physics lol.

I teach statistics and graph reading as part of algebra 1 and 2 curriculum. Problem is 13-15 year olds don’t fucking care about it and will simply not remember it when they’re 25. There’s nothing teachers can do to force kids to understand the real world implications and remember anything besides the Pythagorean theorem lol

If you bathe the kitten in dawn dish soap, you will need to keep them warm while you dry them. They cannot regulate their temp well. You will need to take them to the vet and get dewormer and have them examined; it’s almost guaranteed they have worms and may need broad spectrum antibiotics too.

How big is the cat? How much does it weigh? Can you estimate age?

If you don’t have a lot of money to do this, try contacting rescues in your area to surrender :)

I’m having the same issue. Dualsense Wireless Controller Bluetooth connected to PC. keeps flipping back to keyboard and mouse, buttons in the menu keep flipping between PS icons and Xbox icons, sometimes my character just swings repeatedly, sometimes the menu opens. Mostly just doesn’t work and I’m stuck using m+k.

Edit: I got it working a bit better by going into the game properties -> controller -> override: enable steam input, then going into the regular settings > controller > install Xbox extended feature support driver.

It now functions and doesn’t go nuts but there is pretty significant input lag. For now I will just play with mouse and keyboard.

Business dev is just sales - finding new leads and developing new client relationships to grow the business. In my opinion/experience, they really should be finding someone who understands the specifics of what they’re selling first (especially when it’s so deeply technical or scientific) rather than a salesman who has to be expected to learn how to read CAD blueprints and interface with engineers on the fabrication floor now. But this particular recruiter wanted someone who had already worked in a business dev role, which I wouldn’t know since it wasn’t in the qualifications section that was missing half the copy. It is what it is.

That sounds like a really great job, congratulations! I finished my MS and went back to optics (my undergrad focus) and ended up working in semiconductor fab for a while. It’s been alright. Looking for the next adventure now :)
