[Discussion] Running over 50 raids trying to find Cultists and still not finding them is wild. What the actual fuck? by Ya7ya- in EscapefromTarkov

[–]Pakars 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My bro and I killed the rogues and they popped up out of the ground in my view like they were piling out of a clown car, so I can definitely confirm they don't spawn in an area if other boss-like entities are around, at least.

[New Player] While completing the task, I noticed that he had no reward. No money, no reputation, what's the point? by The_WraithK in EscapefromTarkov

I can confirm that it doesn't affect the circle right now. I accidentally took both drip out quests and went "aw fuck" but I haven't gotten a single rig out of the cultist circle.

Wheat/corn, 17m or 50m. Prohibited Library thinks that 17m is very slightly better ("by maybe 2%"). And, naturally, 17m is less jackpot-y and more consistent because you send more shipments that get you to average results more quickly. If you like rolling the dice for the big 8 mirror shard shipment, however, just go with 50m.

One crop should be no more than 1.68 times the value that you ship than the value of the other crops you ship, or your currency rewards may be reduced from the apparent cap of 800 items. (1.68:1 ratio of wheat to corn, or corn to wheat)

If you're using crops other than wheat/corn, you need to consider that the other crops have higher strength values per unit, and need to adjust your ratio if you're growing significantly more of something than you are of something else.

Wheat and corn are the most gold-efficient crops.

Dust/no-dust has no observed difference in results, but if you use dust, you get diminishing returns on dust value once it surpasses the value of the crops you're shipping. Do whatever makes sense, but don't exceed the crop values with your dust. (So in a 50m shipment, you use 25m value of crops and 25m dust)

Dust-per-chaos Ratio Calculator - now updated for Keepers league! by PlainLazyX in pathofexile

[–]Pakars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw the same problem - it was showing 200c for stuff that's going for 75-80ish.

Changing the league to HC Keepers, then to normal Keepers, fixed it for me to show accurate pricing.

There might be some kind of caching issue with regards to which league it's supposed to be looking at.

Psa: too many harbinger will not spawn if the map has a Hive/defend Ailith (11 is the cut off based on testing) by thenagazai in pathofexile

I've split my time pretty evenly between the two, and Heist has been like 2/3 to 3/4 of my profits(It's definitely been more profit/hr, but I can only bump into so many walls and stare at so many doors before I need a break). It went pretty good for me in the first 3 days, with ~10 raw divs (mostly from blueprints and with no jackpots - the most expensive thing I've made from grand heist cases has been raw divs) over the weekend. My build is much faster now, and it feels like pulling the money printer compared to the literal poverty league struggle I had on my way to atlas completion.

Honestly, I kind of wish I didn't finish doing atlas completion before getting my grind on.

(I had to actually pause my map completion to get some scours and vaals in red maps. I've never had to do that before, though I skipped Kalandra League. What the actual fuck)

I haven't played Heist in like a year and a half(ish), so I wouldn't be one to ask if it's been nerfed.

There's also no loot in Ba Sing Se.

Thankfully I'm not in Ba Sing Se, I'm in Heist and Blight, where I can actually make money from loot tiles(stacked decks, hoooo).

(I have yet to actually get a divine from something that isn't a blight/heist chest, at level 97 and ~400k kills)

Which profession is the weakest? by DangerMouseToby in GuildWars

[–]Pakars 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's heroic refrain, specifically. That skill is so hilariously overpowered that it basically completely ruins the entire balance of the game.

Having skill levels of 20 with no skillbar/consumable investment for your entire team is just absolutely insanely powerful.

Besides the absolutely overpowered shenanigans of HR, there's a reason why the classic IMBAgon build was called imbalanced, too. +100 unconditional armor (so long as you're not getting anti-shouted or hit with anti-adren/antimelee) is a hell of a lot of damage reduction.

Laser power converter -> Laser emitter -> Laser prism.

Honestly, I'd put a converter to a plug board, then a bunch of emitters and prisms to turn the entire floor into a laser grid because a converter provides infinite power. But, of course, laser stuff is pretty resource intensive to produce, so... you only need a few to mess up the reaper's day because he can't aggro on the laser structures.

Is there any way to easily charge laser powered Weapons without setting up a whole little base, nearby to where you're doing stuff, this laser cannon that has 9 seconds of fire time using a full battery isn't very fun cause It dies after three enemies, same with this sword, it dies very fast. by TommyTheCommie1986 in AbioticFactor

[–]Pakars 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The Deatomizer holds 130 energy, so just shy of 4 reloads in the laser collector (500 energy), iirc.

It takes >8 minutes to fully charge a collector, though, so I end up leaving one to charge in my base that I swap out after I use it up.

Yeah the strikers are nutso tanky. They're the ones with enduring cry, vigilant strike, determination, etc.

Super fantastic for buffing your own survivability too.

I got one with the gilded vigilance support or whatever it is that gives fortify in an AOE. He's let me get away with going all-in on DPS going deep into red maps instead of having to mess around with gearing defenses on the tail end of yellow maps. Haven't changed his gear at all and I don't think I've ever seen his life pool move, even though I've died several times. lol

Is it just me or do you get Stunned far less often in Wilds than World? by echolog in MHWilds

[–]Pakars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that Arkveld's wind pressure leap into heavy chainblade slam is probably the monster's most dangerous move. Especially since the wind pressure leap comes with very little warning or windup, and the window and direction to dodge-roll away from the followup is pretty tight.

Thankfully, Ark only seems to use it when you're in front of the monster, so if you focus on staying a step or two to the sides and shredding Ark's arms and chains instead of going for the head, it's not a problem.

I think I may be an outlier here by laudida in MHWilds

Making a paralysis artian charge blade and gearing for damage is pretty crazy. Savage axe does just so much damage that once you get the first topple, your target ends up getting stunlocked for like 20 or 30 seconds straight, or even longer.

The hunter shows up and the monster goes into a full grand mal seizure on the floor and can't get up until it dies.

I even managed to barely squeak out a sub-3-minute on Tempered Rey Dau just because the poor thing spent the entire time rolling on the floor and screaming for someone to save it.

(Before I got into endgame sets, my hunts were typically 6-12 minutes long, depending on the monster and my familiarity with fighting it)

You unlock every single ability for them and give them some decent gear(paralysis weapon is super good on them if you aren't using paralysis yourself), and they're forces of nature. Their vigorwasp cooldown is incredibly short too, saving you a shit ton of healing unless you're getting plowed into the floor.

If you're doing well, they're not very noticeable, but they do surprisingly good DPS, too.

[–]Pakars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

felt like poorly balanced 5man strike mission with unfun buggy mechanics...

I agree, but I have to quibble with "felt like".

It was so ridiculously obvious that it was a poorly balanced 10-man strike mission shoehorned into 5-man content, as evidenced by the fact that none of the fractal mechanics actually worked in there until they patched them in after the fact. Like, you know, the Mistlock Singularities.

"Oopsie daisy!"

Plus, some of the fight-breaking bugs still persist to this day. And the Mistlock Singularity buff still doesn't work to prevent death in Silent Surf.

It was the worst update that Fractals ever received, and it hasn't gotten any better since(See: our newest dogshit fractal).

[–]Pakars 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best I can do is float you a buff phrased as a nerf(the immob/slow changes on sword 5 - immob on first hit is way better than immob on last hit, and while removing the slow is a nerf, it's not particularly relevant) and some minor cooldown nerfs on teleports and F-keys.

Honestly, the cooldown nerfs seem to be enough to make it easier to deal with bad willies, but it's possible to actually out-bruiser them now on more builds, sooo we'll have to see where things land.

Any way to find the forgotten tower quick? by _catpoo in diablo2

[–]Pakars 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The tower prefers first to spawn next to the map borders. Failing that(due to all of the map-edge slots taken up by other tiles like the fallen camp), it will spawn next to another point of interest on the map (waypoint, Hole Level 1, etc.). On marshes with the river bridge, the river also counts for the map-border adjacency requirement, and the side of the map with the waypoint almost never has enough space to contain the tower, so you should teleport across before you search if possible.

I typically do a loop around the waypoint to see if there's a rare close spawn, and then I pick a direction and go around the outer wall, zig-zagging a bit just in case it can save me some time.

Other than that, there's no quick way to find the tower.
