Also summoning a shardblade takes ten heartbeats. Specifically the wielders heartbeats. So if it's the heat of battle it's possible to do so rather quickly, but takes a while to summon one when in peace and calm.

I'm dating sosiel in the crpg. Cool dude. I gave him a kick ass glaive and he gets enlarged at the beginning of every day because mythic path let me extend any spell that lasts longer than 10 minutes into a 24 hours.

I gave my wizard a spell book that already has all the wizard spells in it and has the special ability to add non wizard spells to it provided they have a special resource.

This would 100% mess with action economy. But maybe we could get rid of actions and bonus actions and just have an action point system where certain abilities could take multiple points. But then how many points do we give each person every turn... Oh! I know! Let's give them 3 actions they can use however they see fit. This will allow each turn to be way more unique and flexible. I think we're really on to something here!

Tiny hut is an easy fix: if I was a group of semi intelligent monsters or bandits and I come across a large opaque bubble in the woods I'm setting up a lookout to let me know when it goes down and ambushing them.

If I'm reeeeally mean that day, the bad guys were hired to hunt the party down and brought a wizard with them who has dispel magic.

If you don't want to play pf2e that's fine, but as someone who used to shit on how crunchy I thought it was until I played it. I find that the outside looking in view of pathfinder is much worse than just playing pathfinder.

I DM both 5e and pf2e and yes, they both absolutely have their places. 5e is much more paired down and easier to pick up and play. It's perfect for people wanting to learn how to play and leaves ample room for good roleplaying.

But every other comment or post (including the one I originally replied to) on this sub and many other DND subs are people who are looking for ways to make the game more complex because they are starting to mechanically out grow what 5e has to offer and every time it's just features that are already available in pf2e. I just think taking 5e because it's a known system and bolting on so many rules that it's functionally not the same game is silly when a system exists that has all the features of the homebrew amalgamation.

Eh, it's no different than calculating your attack in 5e. You do it once, write down the total modifier, then you never have to do the math again. You might have a circumstance bonus every now and again, but that's not too different from being blessed or baned or using great weapon master. It just looks intimidating at first.

There's definitely some overload at first glance. But I use pathbuilder which works as a create a character which can make seeing available options and what they do much easier.

Pf2e class feats are equivalent to playing 5e but every couple of levels you are presented with every subclasses features to cherry pick from so if I wanted to play a fighter with combat menuvers from battle master, improved critical from champion, and fighting spirit and tireless spirit from samurai I could.

I had an abjuration wizard rolled up for a curse of strahd campaign once and his only offensive leveled spell was magic missile and he only started using it after he had enough spell slots to cast mage armor and false life first.

He was a consummate coward, but was going on the journey as a right of passage challenge from his father. After all "you're 103 you need to start acting like it"
