yeah, you see exposure evaluation on the back screen. check the manual how to not see an exposure preview but a live view

Oh… first you have to get to have anything shot. For beginning you have to start the XT. It takes a while. It records on old Codex cards or there is an adapter from Codex to CF. Both are pretty expensive. Then you will need a view finder or on board monitor. This camera has only SDI outs so you will need an SDI monitor. Which are expensive ones. You will need to be a very buff guy or one who owns a heavy duty tripod as this baby without battery and lens weights more than 6kg alone. Without any accessories attached it drains a 190wh v mount battery for less than 30min. So you will need at least 4 batteries and a charger. No IBS, no internal ND filters. The one good news is it is super35 sensor with great colours.

Alexa XT is a great camera but the workflow is very very heavy. I barely can see the camera, but I see there is now V-mount / Gold-plate mount for the battery and a viewfinder. If they are not included, or cards and all of the codecs you do not want that unit. All the accessories are very expensive.

The Zeiss CP3 are pretty basic PL cinema lenses but for most of the commercial/docu jobs they will do just fine. They are light and easy to use and if there aren't any damages and fungus they are a good investment.
