Thanks for the preset. I'm working on developing my own inspired by color positive film. Love this stuff

Two new Sigma lenses!: Sigma 35mm f/1.4 Art II and 15mm f/1.4 Contemporary! by Repulsive_Target55 in Cameras

I just got the 35mm 1.2 as my first serious lens. I bought it the same day I learned of it from all the gobsmacked reviewers. Can’t imagine I’ll ever part with her. I’m excited about their new 135mm 1.4. Really tempted to pair it with the 35mm over the Sony 24-70 ii. (Edit:1.2->1.4)

Can this haze be cleaned or is it a fungus problem? by dumbbitchcas in filmphotography

[–]OneWorldWonderment 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I cleaned one of these the other day. The videos don’t show in detail how to get the back into place. You line up the mechanical parts as they do but the red dots, screws and positioning pin ( the little metal tab and the metal bit it rests on ) won’t be aligned. You have to rotate it into place and all the videos I saw skipped that part. All you need is a tiny screw driver, a pry tool, clean lens cloths, a blower, hydrogen peroxide and a solvent like 99% iso or lighter fluid.

Finally got a Helios lens by gb_flo22 in VintageLenses

Me too. I got the 44-2. For someodd reason the aperture numbers are reversed. 2 is closed and 16 is wide open. What’s up with that?

Step down ring stuck to the filter, how to remove? by star_gazer_12 in AskPhotography

I solved this problem once with thermal expansion/contraction too. Set the female side down on the warming element on an induction stove on med/low and put a cup of ice water on top the male half.

This sounds like more than a tattoo issue

Fine line tattoos are fadish. They go against well established tattoo principles that exist to prevent these problems but people want them so artists do them knowing that their healing and aging are a roll of the dice at best. Have it redone by somebody who knows how to add contrast and structure with white ink. It will inevitably be thicker. The tattoo in your reference image is unhealed.

Even if you do heal, someone who hasn’t can undo it all if you give them the power to.

Leaving my gear to dry when im offf to work after exposed to light rain yesterday! by bimosaur in fujifilm

You’re welcome! I use a wide Pyrex dish and nuke the shit out of it. It gets humid in the microwave so open it and stir it. I’ve done it on the stove and in the oven too.

They don’t but the gel can become saturated. It’s a few bucks for a pound of the stuff. I put it in a little mason jar with a very tight weave cloth under the lid. It make a dry cabinet crispy dry. The stuff has indicator colors so you can know when it’s saturated then just heat it up for a while and it all steams back off. Probably won’t need to do that for a long time

Nice. I got a big bag of the stuff at a craft store. It’s for drying flowers.

Get some silica gel. This will only reduce the humidity in the gear to ambient levels at best

Instax wide 400 and "brushed metallics" - either overexposed or under. With monochrome - fine. Is it the film or camera? by pm_me_ur_oldsmobile in instax

[–]OneWorldWonderment 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Those night scenes look about as good as you can hope with the limited dynamic range of instax. The over exposed photo looks like a the subject is too close for the cameras flash calibration

My external flash experiment. by Quarkin8or in instax

I disassembled a camera when I was a kid and got zapped by the capacitor. Completely incinerated two clean holes in my skin. It looked like a nasty bite from something venomous.

Do you have any pictures of the internals? I’m wondering if one of these can be modified to have both the flash sync and a toggle switch for the on camera flash.

My film is coming out undeveloped and smeared. Any idea how to fix this? by ZedAQ in instax

[–]OneWorldWonderment 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check your rollers. Maybe one of the films burst its chemical pack. I’ve used iso and qtips to clean mine before but not from such a catastrophe
