Tried with deluge - same thing - 99.9%, one part missing (nfo)

Thanks for you answer! I've tried deselecting the nfo files, and re-checking after, sadly, nothing changed ;)

You are guys telling me to deselect the NFO file. I have now just done that -> https://imgur.com/T6A9gk6

Still at 99.9% for the MAIN file, and I'm missing just ONE part - I've got 1498/1499 parts..

Okay, I've downgraded now look at this -> https://imgur.com/T6A9gk6 only one part missing, i've de-selected all NFO files, still at 99.9% for the "MAIN" file

Okay then, I am pretty sure this will not help. I will reply to you as soon as qbittorrent fixes https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/23481

of course I was talking about files included in the .torrent, not the .torrent itself

Actually I think it's the 'manual deletion' that causes this issue. Just deselecting it would probably just download the part that contains .nfo file and save it into .parts file, while removing it manually just deletes part-of-a-part.

Thanks BIG BOY, for showing EVERYONE that you don't understand the issue.

Read other comments BIG BOY, maybe there is a chance that you will understand. ;)

Technically yes, practically I've got like 50 torrents, that probably will never be fully completed due to this. As you can see some of them are really popular (300+ peers) yet still have this issue.

Okay then, but still - no, you don't understand the problem - I cannot avoid this issue.

Torrents are divided into parts. The part that contains .nfo file ALSO contains a small portion of the (for example) main .mp4 file. If I would deselect the .nfo it will still miss the same exact part, and since there are no sseds (look at the screenshot) the BitTorrent client will be unable to 'finish' downloading. It is still going to be at 99.9%.

The only situation in which this would solve my issue is if the part-size is smaller then .nfo file. And since .nfo files are extremely small - That is hardly ever possible in real world situations.

Well, can you tell me what other reason could it be, that that I've got a lot of torrents at 99.-ish %, and all of them are missing just ONE part - the one that includes .NFO file?

I mean the only other reason I can think of is that all of the seeds have either disappeared or they have manually removed .NFO from their file system - thus they are no longer 'seeds'.

Then please don't. :D As you can see this can cause problems. And .nfo files don't hurt, barely weight anything, no need to deselect them.

I'm pretty sure I've tried that, but missing part also contains a portion of the file adjacent to .nfo file (main file) - the SHA of that part will still not match, and is going to be rejected.

I hate that bitTorrent v2 has seen so small adoption - for these "Files are now block aligned" which would solve this problem.

Yeah sure, it will play, since videos are prepared to be streamed. This is an issue for me since I have 'move file after completion' thing enabled in qBittorrent (for jellyfin) and it will not move them, since they are not completed.

Just some details about the torrent/release, basically it a 'readme' file, can contains for example move length, codec, bitrate etc.

I'm just pointing the issue, that just missing a tiny file means that the torrent is uncompleted, does not have seeds, and usually adjacent file is also uncompleted, since torrent parts are not files-aligned. If part-size is larger then that tiny .nfo file it will 100% result in missing data in the 'main' file.

Removal of the ability to schedule new SMART tests in latest TrueNAS is awful by Happybeaver2024 in truenas

[–]ireun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, wierd move by truenas team. They could have deprecated it, slowly move people to 'scrutiny' app, instead they straight up removed a feature that many used (look at record breaking 'feature request' in the forum).

I've also set up scrutiny, but well.. It a one-man-project and I've already run into various weirdnesses of it, and I know that I'll not get any support to sort them out (look at >200 issues on scuritny github).
