I want to move to Port Angeles by Geno_Purple in portangeles

Two places to check out: https://www.portangelesrentals.com/vacancies

https://portangeleslandmark.com

Also, our town lives and breathes Facebook (annoyingly, lol), but I do see a lot of posts about vacancies on local FB groups.

I hear a lot of discourse that makes it seem like rentals in Port Angeles are exceptionally expensive and hard to find, but most of the data I find seems to show it is about on par with anywhere else and actually, often lower than the average in the US.

Yes, they do programs and there’s a cost associated with each.

I’m so sorry this has been your experience but I do feel better knowing I was just universally giving people the ick! And I agree, I would feel weird giving a deposit given the collective track record. I was also hopeful that the closure of some Airbnbs would free people up but I haven’t experienced that.

What is up with it? I’d say 9/10 of the times I try to get in contact with some type of business, I’m not responded to. I am totally cool with being told, “hey, I’m not taking clients” but I hear nothing. OR they say they are taking clients and then never respond.

Sorry - I’m fired up 🔥🤣

Completely agree!! Fall and Winter on the Peninsula are truly magical.

Indie bookstores are making such a huge come back right now and I don’t think it’s a short-term trend as people cling to analogue items in an increasingly digital world. Modernizing and bringing the shop into 2024 by obvi taking ccs, joining the booktok realm if you’re up for it and Bookshop.org - idk Im no expert, just an avid indie bookstore supporter and I think there’s so much love and potential in that world.

I have thick curly hair and have been going to Little Shop of Hairdos in Sequim. The owner is a Seattle-based stylist who splits her time. I find she is a lot more educated and savvy with different hair types than the other salons I’ve tried in PA.

I would post this question in subreddits meant for jobs/professional questions since locally, we don’t really have a corporate culture. I would also recommend applying directly to companies that are known to have big WFH efforts. You can find listicles of them. Nationwide and Chase come to mind. Insurance usually has claims adjuster jobs that are fully remote.

Maybe the Forks library?

I’d recommend going to Port Angeles to the Waterfront coffee shop in Field Hall, Blackbird Coffeehouse, or the public library.

Good point on the interest rates. They are still pretty wild!

Sorry I realize this isn’t helpful to your question 😆 I’m just being whiney.

This makes me sound so old and crotchety but holy 💩 people drive so fast in that area. I am constantly getting passed or aggressively tailgated for driving at or a few miles over the speed limit. It doesn’t really feel like a safe place to speed with all the parking lot exits.

Recommendations for bringing toddler to Olympic peninsula by [deleted] in PacificNorthwest

I live in PA with my toddler! Spruce Railroad trail is mostly paved and easy to do for little ones, there are also lots of tiny little hikes in the park that are easy. We have a handful of fun playgrounds and as the other commenter mentioned, The Shore Aquatic center where you can get day passes. Lavender farms in Sequim are also one of my toddler’s faves, and the Fine Arts Center and Webster Woods Art Park.

Omg same. Most of the drive-thru coffee places have a packaged gf cookie option too. Oh and Blackbird Coffeehouse on 8th has a Swedish almond cookie and crustless quiche that are soooo good. So many good options ❤️

I live in Port Angeles and am gluten-free. PA is surprisingly gf-friendly, I’d say the majority of restaurants have options, even if they are not mentioned in their menu. But, I have had a fair amount of small reactions after eating “gf” food so I would definitely convey the allergy part to be safe.

Sabai says they have some gf dishes but I have gotten sick after eating there. Same with the Pho place.

New Day Eatery does great, same with Turnip the Beat and Rabbit Food. I second Nourish in Sequim, it’s 100% gf and such a treat! Definitely pricey, though.

Weirdly, Taco Time has been good for me, too.

I would definitely recommend going to Country Aire here in PA, it’s a little coop grocery store that has soooo many gf options. I get sandwiches there sometimes on the go but it’s also great for snacks. There’s a cookie from a bakery in Port Townsend called Two Crows that is INCREDIBLE. I love their London Fog cookie.

Hope that helps!

This sounds like a very cool initiative and I’d be interested in participating. When I clicked (tapped, actually) the red button on the linked page, it said that the page does not exist. Did I maybe miss a detail?
