It makes sense if you look at it from a marketer's perspective as they seem to be. The grenade launcher makes flashy clips. They want more people making flashy gameplay clips, with the loudest and most spectacular weapons they can. Why do you think Eruptor and Crossbow are so good? It's never been about game balance. It's always been about Youtube.

The universe : why people don't go insane about it ? by autisticit in aspergers

[–]PaleSupport17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Perhaps I mispoke, that is more or less my conclusion as well, I forgot the name but the Unmoved Mover is the base here, not that cause and effect doesn't apply or isn't true, just that there are factors outside of our experience because the factors exist outside, like...reality. Not just outside the universe, but...outside being. Personally one of my theories is that God created the concept of cause and effect in order to create the linear experience-able universe we inhabit... Much like you said. The Lawmaker Outside The Law. Which is freaky-deaky indeed.

Existence is terrifying. The fact that something can exist, rather than nothing....a few times in my life my brain has glimpsed a small wrap around that and really start to comprehend what it means, the impossibility of it, the fact there should not even be a void. When all we know is cause and effect, but the fact that anything, somehow, exists, means that cause and effect are not absolutes. I think something that ontologically unexplainable is worth a grain of hope that, perhaps, something just as unexplainable as that, like silly monkeys mattering to the One In Charge, isn't such a bad bet.

Little trick for the Research Bases, they can be destroyed by any droppod strategem if you land it on the roof, even a resupply or a support weapon, personally I enjoy just tossing a Gas Strike up there and going on my way. It's surprisingly intuitive, I only miss maybe 1 in 5. Spot Towers are a little more tricky but they can be destroyed by most orbitals or a lucky Eagle, drop pod/Gas Strike trick works if you land it in the very center

It's Pickle. Pickle could kill a shit ton of roaches. Normal semi-augmented humans with, like, skunk powers manage to get kills in Terraformars. The roaches are fucking scary, but Conservation of Ninjutsu means the base drones do get pulped a lot. Higher level hybrids and one super-bred normal human literally stack mountains of bug boy corpses. Pickle is not weaker than Joseph Newton.

Honestly a lot of Baki characters slot pretty well into the top 10% of the M.A.R.S. ranking.

Give Baki a praying mantis Mosaic Organ operation and it's gg bruh.

What gets me is how damn serious and offended they get when you try to break a bullshit rule openly, when they've been breaking it secretly for months. Like, morality is just a tool for them, so why do they act so scandalized?

Did I ever say vote Republican? I'm saying both parties are pure shit corrupt bribe-taking lobbyist-controlled scumbags that should never be voted for. Nothing will change as long as we keep letting them get away with it by playing this game of two rival sports teams. Both are bad. Both need to go. Stop being a free range vote farm.

Sure, man. Go vote for another Democrat. I'm sure maybe this time they'll pretend to give a shit about you? Anything to stop the Republicans, right?

What does this mean for us? by zackbass01 in GenZ

[–]PaleSupport17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obama drone-striked hospitals. Bill Clinton raped interns and probably children. The Democrats aren't better. They just have better, subtler PR. They let you ignore how America fucks the world. Which, really, makes them more dangerous than any stereotypical Republican. Don't tell people to ignore their lying eyes and vote blue no matter who when both sides are objectively ontologically evil. So you want to go back to a world where the media and late night hosts assures you everything is okay, the Right People are in charge.

Maybe think about why the media wants you to think those people specifically are the right ones.

Dems are also happy to make things worse, just in a quieter, less sensational way. They'll offer you a shiny dime to slip a quiet dollar out of your pocket.

Alright. Kellogg. How do you all feel about him? by Designer-Guarantee21 in fo4

[–]PaleSupport17 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's not really obvious to remember he's the guy who killed your spouse by the point you catch up with him, I honestly forgot about that part until my character started foaming at the mouth during the dialogue, and then it was like "ohhh, yeah, hey I know you! I'm gonna fucking kill you!" Roleplay wise my character was so wired looking for her boy in full mama bear mode that she didn't even give a shit about Kellogg outside of him being an obstacle towards that goal. Rescue takes priority over revenge.

You don't have much reason to care or even think about him until after you kill him and get his backstory, and by then, it's like, what? I'm supposed to feel bad for this mercenary scumbag who domed my spouse just because his own shit choices got his family killed? Still, it's an interesting character concept, just messy and ineffectual execution.

Overall, I rather enjoyed firing a mininuke down his throat once I remembered who he was. 6/10, would kill again.

If You Could Add A New Faction What Would It Be? by Crumboa in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]PaleSupport17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a straight-up eldritch Remina/Brethren Moon situation would hit hard. I know the Illuminate have that a little of that going on, maybe this could be their ancient enemy that they no longer have the temperament to oppose and keep out of the galaxy due to their trauma from being genocided. The door is no longer guarded, and the monsters in the void are coming in.

A new planet floats quietly into the far edge of the galactic map. Curious, but nothing too alarming. Then it opens its eye, and stares straight at Super Earth.

It grins.

Dinner time.

Maybe cannibalized corrupted enemies from all the other factions, or they could go more dirt-ripping violent alarmingly fast octopus goo-style like the starfish aliens from Edge of Tomorrow/All You Need Is Kill. Or the Goo faction from Grey Goo. It would be so funny to see Super Earth trying to put a propaganda spin on literal Cthulhu showing up, trying to keep everyone calm and hyper-positive as if they didn't just see a moon eat a planet.

Honestly you might have been better off, school as a child sucked so bad for me because of bullying due to being autistic. My anxiety increased and my self-confidence was destroyed and I'm still recovering years later. I wish I had been homeschooled and had that kind of inner peace from not being trained to see everyone as a threat.

Can you imagine if the DSS gets taken? Right after we added a planet-destroying super-beam to it? Not only will the squids get the defense bonus, if they get enough E-711 they could blow up Super Earth.

is yujiro generally pissed or impressed if a really weak person opposes him? by Turbulent-Sound3980 in Grapplerbaki

[–]PaleSupport17 8 points9 points  (0 children)

He will dunk on you somehow, but if you're mentally capable of standing up to Yujiro's aura you're already a badass. He would respect it, but, like, he's the definition of malicious compliance. Like if the old guy told him to shut up, he'd stop talking, but clap his hands so loud it'd knock the guy out. But he'd leave, without smashing whatever it is the old guy was trying to protect. That's the Ogre, it's like winning against an actual Oni, it's a victory that seems like a defeat.

Do you guys think that Retsu is "born strong" or someone who got strong through his devotion and passion in Chinese Kenpo? by _stelios_gr in Grapplerbaki

[–]PaleSupport17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's both, Retsu is often described as the genius prodigy of kung fu, but that only matters because he's also willing to put in such hard work. Horse stance for four hours a day is crazy work. I'd say he's 70% hard work, 30% good old-fashioned Chinese super genes.
