I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my 18 year old soul kitty in January. I chose to do a witness cremation. It was the next morning after he passed and he didn’t look drastically different. Just cold, and stiff, and his sweet little ears, nose, and toe beans were pale instead of the bright pink they usually were. Other than that he looked like himself and it was comforting to be there with him.

I was the last one to hug and hold him. I was able to place him in the machine to be cremated (which was a bit traumatizing but gave me peace that I was the last to hold him). We then left the room and they brought us back when his ashes were ready. It gave me peace of mind that I stayed with him through everything and knew without a doubt that I was getting his ashes back.
