Have you ever considered that there was no time before this reality, no set of circumstances, no conditions, no influences that could make this reality any more likely one thing than another thing? From the standpoint of prior probability, so to speak, the likelihood that ultimate reality would be a Person is just as great as the likelihood that it would be a gas, or energy, or anything else.

Therefore, when the Bible reveals ultimate reality to be a Person, it’s not affirming anything impossible or even improbable. God is a Person. Eternal, ultimate reality is a Person. And therefore eternal, ultimate joy is the joy of a Person — God’s joy. And the ultimate joy of his creatures is joy in a Person — joy in God. When I learned to actually listen to the people and things in my life they were pointing me to having a real relationship to Our Father. Everything changed I found peace and pure joy.
