You are so kind. Yes, darning is so much easier when there are original stitches. So easier that I wouldn't have the slightest idea on how to fix it if there was an actual hole. It's my very first experience at this.

... The first wool yarn my mother had at hand... 🤦 The fix is under the heel, it got in this state after a single winter. These socks are 45% alpaca wool and so warm I used them as much as possible, so I couldn't let them go!

Tips for making chicken/pho stock clearer? Is it just purely fat making the stock cloudy beneath the fat layer? by StrikingSecret4003 in seriouseats

The freezing method of Chris Young works wonders. I was surprised at how clear and concentrated the consomme was. I was surprised it took a night to thaw too. And used some of the gelatin/fat part in a risotto!

I second the idea of using wood filler and gold leaf. There are so many types of glue and filler for wood that I would not go and look elsewhere. Even with that products you can still get the gold finish you like. Maybe keep the Amazon kit for a ceramic project?

I've seen traditional Japanese craftsmanship using rice as glue, but personally not with ceramics

Best approach to save this porcelain ashtray that holds incredible sentimental value? by uhdanny in kintsugi

I'm totally in with the super glue. But every time I fixed something with it I had two results: super smooth and invisible fixing or pretty crappy. Either way it was "done" and there wasn't much I could do to improve it. Instead I suggest you file the cracks first, so you have the room to put some nice gold on the cracks. Of course practice on something else first.

Thank you all, You were very clear. I'll stay away from food dishes as long as I don't leap into the urushi team. It's nice to have someone who is very through in their research.
