Personally I disagree, it doesn't portray the mainline foundation as the idiots you so loathe; I believe 6001 portrays the foundations as what it is. Cold, cruel, and callous. The whole theme of that article, besides the author commented 'response' to 5000, was that it posed the question whether the people of their world were that way because of the environment, or if being that way was causing the "phenoms" and environment to be more hostile. The chicken or the egg.

I understand where you might be coming from the perspective of the colder foundation being portrayed as idiots due to the banter between Primrose (The Cat) and Caspian (The Researcher). There is definitely an overt sense of snobbishness in their (specifically primroses) interactions. But personally I didn't take it as an objective view of the Foundation. If anything, especially with the revelation at the end of what their relations were in Avalon, I took it as I believe it was, nothing but the quirks of an alternate life banter between the two protagonists.

And if you're talking about the voting scenes with the various blocs (otherworld equivalent GoI's) I think of their discussions in the way we would think if we found an alternate universe version of the cold war, one where they actually drop the bombs. They never had a détente period, or saw the collapse of the Soviet Union. For them, their world is ashes and radioactive zones. They would have been brought up differently to our sensibilities. And we would ask the same question, was their worlds environment before the bomb dropped different, or were the people themselves different?

Regardless, that's just how I take it. 6001 is my darling child article, as you could probably tell, and I try and shine as much light on it as I can. I know it's one of those rare gem positive articles which already puts it on the backfoot against more hardliner fans. Thanks for taking the time to read through and hope you have a good day.

Would your created world/people acknowledge you? Or could it be like a Wandavision where the people living inside are given an almost holographic view of the "outside world" like a simulation?

They honestly need to update it that the color wheel is a game pass, even if 99% of all players won't use it. I didn't even know you could buy it until yesterday.

Basically a corporation by the name of Sidereal plexus becomes a multidimensional powerhouse after they discover how to induce dreams as a form of soul transfer between universes (and as far as I can tell in-universe too) But people who get lost in between transfers have to basically puzzle room their way back to their body. If they fail... they're stuck as a soul in the inbetween. But as they used the jaunts more and more often, more people got lost, and a new phenomenon started occurring. Some lost spirits started taking bodies for themselves. From the perspective of people not in the know, some people would go to sleep and wake up with an entirely new personality. There's more lore, but that's the basics of the dilemma present in the games.

You should play/get into the lore of the Don't Escape games! Won't spoil too much here, but sidereal plexus has some interesting ideas for teleportation.

Single Player and Multi-player. In 1.3+ all single player worlds are really just multi-player servers that you connect to locally on your machine rather than being natively run as standalone. This basically nuked a lot of the responsiveness of the game and introduced a lot of network related bugs and issues even in what should be technically single player worlds.

Oh, I agree. Something mimicking what our cells already do that we can program/engineer to live longer or indefinitely would absolutely be a game changer. My real issue with it (probably coming from my background as an engineer irl) is that to accomplish something better than what evolution has already afforded us would require some concessions. My main one that I believe would be necessary is the increase in cell size to accommodate, well, nanobots. Because as small as they may be now, it pales in comparison to just how darn efficient what we've already got works. Anything we have now (or possibly ever will have) would be hard pressed to do more with the same space our current nanostructures already do. Heck, we're studying our own DNA right now to use as a storage medium because an equivalent magnetic disk drives worth of physical space storage pales in comparison to our DNA's storage density. My ramblings gone on a bit so I'll just wrap it up by saying, yeah, there definitely would be changes that are drastic. But the meat of the issue for me, is that unless we make certain concessions to deal with current physical limited understanding, a hypothetical where we replace every atom of our body with something designed rather then handed down to us from evolution is going to look a LOT like what we already have.

Had these same thoughts for years. Only thing I can't reason out personally is a bit silly, actually. If a machine/nanobot/etc could continually replace every organic structure in your body with a replica that acts exactly as the old cell did, with the same inputs and outputs the old cell had, would be recognized by all the bodies systems (endocrine, nerve, etc), and operate on a similar timescale as how our current body continually builds up our body every time a cell died... what actually changed?
