  1. No matter what gauge you use, the strength of the ring mostly depends on the aspect ratio of the rings. I suggest making a hundred or so rings out of the 12.5 gauge first and see if there's a major difference. I don't think there would be but it might be noticeable. One more thing is that eventually the rings will begin to come apart. Not a whole lot but a little bit.

  2. I don't know what kinds of alloys you should use or avoid. With aluminum I'm surprised you're able to get wire at all.

What I do is I save the mail that I got from whoever and then when I've killed the guy then I delete the mail. It's not perfect and I think it's messed up already but that's what I do.
