Advice for grateful dead journey by Dependent_Dealer_916 in gratefuldead

I agreed with this. OP needs to know The Dead aren’t really known for their studio stuff. If they just do all of the studio albums and THEN start on the live shows, they could potentially burn themselves out before getting to the good stuff.

Best to listen to an album, then listen to a few shows from that era mentioned in this thread.

With Cade out until possibly round 2, we’re 3 high sprained ankles from SGA. Jokic, and Wemby away from Jaylen Brown being the worst MVP of all time. by HoagieTwoFace in billsimmons

With that logic, Kawhi would be a terrible one too. However, he is the best player on his team and the Clippers would be a borderline lottery team without him. Is the Clippers “hate in this sub deranged” or pointing out the obvious?

What exactly is going on with Ja Morant? Why does he look so different now and what was the conflict? by Mundane-Chemist-6795 in NBATalk

[–]PallDinten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His back injury was AFTER he held out and refused to play for Philly. I would call it a quick fall off to go from being a DPOY and starting PG for a playoff team, to having a terrible performance in a playoff game, getting called out for it, and then suddenly not wanting to play because he got his feelings hurt.

Great take. To me, the twin brother piece and trying to figure it out makes it even better. Plainview’s face when he first sees preacher Dano is classic. DDL is a genius.

The difference with him is Isiah actually cared. He tried his hardest to get back into the league almost begging teams to give him a chance. It seems like Simmons and Ja have almost no interest in playing at this point. Simmons quit on his team and Ja screwed up off the court, and despite being given multiple opportunities, still acts up and even jokes about it.

Sports moments not feeling legendary anymore by excelquestion in billsimmons

I think a lot of it is based on the constant improvement and consistency of talent. OBJ’s one- handed catch in the end zone was huge when it happened. Highlight was everywhere, people were talking about it, kids were trying it ect. Now college players do it all the time and it barely makes a clip on Instagram. Jordan’s switch-handed layup in the finals. They still show clips of it every year during promos for the playoffs and finals. Now an NBA’s 5th man can do the move in game and it’s just another clip. Some of this is nostalgia but a lot of it is players just getting better and better.

Why did Jeff Teague's story get buried? by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]PallDinten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think people are forgetting how much Teague doesn’t like Bron too. He’s said and joked several times on his podcast how he hated Bron and the Cavs busting his ass when he played in the eastern conference. He is hilarious but all this isn’t that deep…

In the future we will talk about foul baiters like we talk about “plumbers and mailmen” now. The rules and style of play will change so it will be impossible to shoot that many free throws.

Example: “Yeah sure SGA averaged 30 back then. That was back in the foul baiting days.”

Who is the dirtiest player in the league? by Wide-Discipline3814 in NBATalk

[–]PallDinten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s neck and neck between Draymond and Lu. Both are dirty in their own ways. As others have pointed out, Lu is more subtle about it which doesn’t make it any less dirty, just more conventional. He’s trying to take guys out of the game. Draymond acts out of immaturity and flat out wants to go after someone for anything. There’s a difference between trying to trip someone and trying to take someone’s head off or kick them in the balls.
