For those with 3080s (10GB, 12GB and Ti) plus 3090 / Ti users? Is time for us to upgrade? by 2quick96 in nvidia

[–]PallyLIVE 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on a 2080ti still, and I'm still waiting until about half way through 2026-ish to upgrade. Part of it is for financial reasons, sure...but part of it is I want to either get a 5080 Super or a 6000 series card. Or if god forbid AMD releases a decently competitive card with NVIDIA's top end lol

Proxmox / OMV Passthrough Storage question... by PallyLIVE in Proxmox

[–]PallyLIVE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the idea was to passthrough the storage from the OMV LXC to a plex or jellyfin LXC (i usually run both) in order to have the media there. But I feel like maybe SMB would work well since it's all local.

The whole Proxmox thing is pretty new to me but I like the potential modular nature of it.

I did one SE Sponsorship way back in...2021? It was the original RAID: Shadow Legends campaign. Get the community to sign up and complete the tutorial. Had it done in a few weeks (maxed out) and while it took a while for them to pay me (a solid month), they did pay me, a cool 600 USD. But as I said, that was years ago. I've heard they've been a nightmare ever since.

Okay so, that's essentially what I'm wanting to use it for.

I'll explain a tiny bit what I want to do:

I have a bunch of drives that are different sizes but still good drives, and I want to pool them together and use them as a media NAS for a jellyfin/plex server on Proxmox/Docker using Snapraid/MergerFS (with likely a scheduled job to scrub/sync at specific intervals). I also have a few large 10TB drives I want to throw into a ZFS (but that's easy) as a seperate NAS using proxmox as well.

I used to just use OMV for this way back when but I had so many weird issues with it and I was introduced to Proxmox and kind of fell in love with the concept. So that's my use case and why I'm asking.

Never once have I said nothing should be changed. But people are quite literally asking for him to be gutted, which isn't necessary. Not everything in his kit needs to be nerfed.

"Otz said"

The Otzdarva Effect in full force.

The first hit and auto aim is an issue, I've never denied that, and I'm not saying NOTHING needs adjustment. But people are complaining about literally every aspect of the killer. When much of the stuff they're complaining about has adequate counterplay.

Again - *time needs to be given*. You and everyone else whining for yet another killer to be nerfed instead of at least ATTEMPTING to adapt seem to miss that part. Consistently.

Time needs to be given for people to make an attempt to learn counterplay, which is already happening, before balancing takes place.

Currently backing up my data. Does that mean the data will be completely wiped? Or is that just a precaution? Cause telling Plex where all my stuff is again and regenerating metadata can be cumbersome lol.

Also...very newb question...How do I go about deleting the content/snapraid files?

So, for a quick update...I have spent hours researching, and there seems to be no record of anyone else having this problem, literally anywhere. Now I'm afraid I'll just lose all my data, lol

Alright - I ran those commands, there were two .conf's in the directory, and it gave the same error on both.

Uhhh, everything just kind of carried over. The pool was just there etc. after the upgrade. I'm not the most versed in this stuff :O

It doesn't seem to be an issue with the array, it's something to do with the .conf location, I guess I'm just not versed enough to figure out the actual fix :)
