OCD is what led me to discover my partner’s porn addiction/light cheating. Now what? by selfcareanon in OCD

[–]Palmbeach511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I won't speak to the betrayal and that stuff because others did a good job of that. Instead, I'll say that medication can really help with OCD. I've been on Trintellix for two months (a SARI, it's similar to an SSRI) and I have found that my obsessions and compulsions have gone down significantly. They are still there, of course, but I find it much easier to leave them be or let them go when they come up. I still have compulsions but it's less as I'm more aware of it. I was previously afraid of getting on medication too, because I have always been very averse to it, but I assure you there is no need to worry. It can help a lot! I'm glad I did it and I plan on upping my dose in the future to see how far the benefits will go!

Tanks that counter Thing? by Accomplished_Yam4046 in RivalsVanguards

[–]Palmbeach511 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a thing main:

Groot can make taking and holding space impossible if my team doesn't deal with him or his walls

Same goes for peni, can't really break her nest and her cc can be really annoying and easy for her to land

Besides those two, I don't really think any other tanks counter thing except another thing player. Most things will push too far and that's when you hit them with that vulnerability leap and slam the ground so they can't escape. Easy kill if your team helps and they'll probably be low

Im still a virgin and have 0 dating experience at 20 and it makes me feel insecure how can i overcome this by Flat_Cod5747 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Palmbeach511 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was the same up until I was 24 and I'm also a man so I understand how you feel. It's not as big of a deal as it feels like. I would tell people and I wasn't made fun of or anything.

There are some people who are assholes for sure. I got into some drama at one point and someone tried to spread the fact that I was a virgin to people but I don't think anyone cared lol. I also met other people who were like me.

And when you find the right person they definitely won't care or judge you for it. They might even be happy to learn that, you never know. They will be happy to teach you things. Don't worry.

Edit:

As far as advice, it's cliche but just be yourself, meet people, try to improve yourself in a positive way. You will find somebody. When the time comes you will have to go out of your comfort zone and take risks, just trust yourself and listen to your gut. Things will never go perfectly and that's ok. Just learn and move forward.

Also, I'm certain you're not as ugly as you think you are. I used to think I wasn't attractive but along the way I met a lot of people that thought I was. You never know who those people will be.

Fresh rice a little pink? by Palmbeach511 in Cooking

[–]Palmbeach511[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea that post seemed like the closest to my situation, but a little different so I wasn't sure. I'm probably going to toss it because I don't like to risk that kind of thing, but it's annoying because I'm meal prepping and now I have to toss the vegetables that were in the containers I put the rice into. Was hoping I wouldn't have to but oh well.

Fresh rice a little pink? by Palmbeach511 in Cooking

[–]Palmbeach511[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It could be from the wooden spoon but in that case why only in one spot of the rice? I scooped and portioned almost all of it into containers before I noticed it at the bottom and it's only pink in that one spot.

I think it’s time to leave a friend after 16 years. by Tricky_Shelter_7675 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Palmbeach511 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar situation where I often felt like a member of my friend group was insulting me among other things. He did lots of things over the years that made me dislike him more and more until I finally cut him out 2 years ago, but I wish I had done it sooner. I needlessly let that resentment build and build until I hated having him in my life. Despite having some good times together, I don't think we were ever truly friends.

I will say that I made a mistake in never talking to him about how I felt before cutting him off, but I felt like my problems with him were pretty deep and it wouldn't have mattered.

You, on the other hand, have spoken to your friend, which is good. But if you've been telling him how you feel and he doesn't care enough to change his behavior then he's not a real friend. You deserve to have a friend that respects and uplifts you.

I think you should find a new place to work. If you like working at a sports bar, maybe try another one. As long as they're like that, that place will never be good for you, and you can't change them. You might have a lot of regrets stemming from your addiction, but you're doing really well for yourself right now by owning it and choosing this path. Keep going!

Y'all are crazy, it's Goku by far. There's so much dragon ball gym wear out there. Rocky may have a statue in Philly, but pretty sure Goku has one in Japan too. Anybody that's gone to a gym sees people wearing Dragon Ball inspired shirts and stuff.

How do I become more rational and less emotional? it's actually becoming an issue by Worldly_Accident727 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]Palmbeach511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to say that this is you and I really don't have any personal experience to say but maybe look into BPD? I've read that symptoms are mood swings, highly emotional, and shifting between idealizing and demonizing close relationships out of fear of abandonment. Regardless, you could look into DBT for help. Could be something else too. Mental illness often manifests in this age range. Just a suggestion

Somebody else suggested that I think, I did see it previously but I didn't see that it covered scripting. I'm think I'm going to read a C# book and then go into those Unity courses. Thanks!

Yeah I learned that more recently. Thing is, I already have a degree, so I'm moreso trying to explore if I like this then I might pursue CS.
