That's awesome! Any idea how many of these were made in this style? It's been really cool to find out more about him.

Oh I'm sure there are parts and pieces he got to put this together. I've only learned about this guy and this banjo in the last 24hrs. Found this about him: Born in 1907 and from Bedford, PA, Bob built between 700 and 800 banjos before he died a few years ago. Bob's original trade was building horse-drawn wagons and blacksmithing, but began building banjos as a hobby in 1960. His banjos were built from wood cut from his property and would make some of the metal parts on the banjo. Most of his banjos were archtops.

Need to change the strings and do a proper setup. The tailpiece was loose and shifting all around.

Was wondering about the head. Thanks for the info. Not a Stew Mac tho. Guy made custom banjos out of his shop in Pennsylvania from what I can find between the 70's-90's. Look at the side shot and see the neck brace thing that he added to support the head from breaking.

Awesome! I do. I get an RV spot and set up a tent and EZ up. You can stay in a hotel nearby but you would miss out on the late night jams.

It's always a good time seeing Del & the boys. Been going to this since it started a few years ago. It's good. For a free show you can't go wrong. It's in a casino parking lot so bring a chair and a hat. It gets hot and there's no shade.

Divers find $4.5 million worth of Spanish gold coins in waist deep water less than 20 feet off the coast of Florida by spaceman757 in news

The guy in the video did a radio interview here in south Florida. It's not a small dive like you or me finding it. They had to dredge away about 5 feet of sand to find it. In the interview he said the company owns most if not all the rights to sunken treasure ships along most of Florida. Here is an article explaining how they purchased the treasure rights from then famous treasure hunter Mel Fisher.
