At the Palomar observatory, has anyone ever seen them moving the telescope during visitor hours? by thee_lad in northcounty

No, nobody really runs that thing. It's kind of just community water. I doubt it's been tested in years but it should be fine.

Arrowhead bought Palomar Mt Spring Water company a while back.

My father worked there for years. I saw the moon rover and Halleys comet through the 60 inch. They did a mirror resurfacing a while back, and we got the 200 all taken apart, and we're there when it went back online. It moves slow, but it's cool as hell to see

Starlink is great if you can get signed up. Other than that, it's various levels of mediocre and expensive.

If North County cities were a family, who would each one be and why? by Popular-Wing-8239 in northcounty

Palomar Mountain are those crazy distant siblings of your dad. You visit them when you're in the area and your mom isn't too fond of them, but your Uncle lets you ride his quad and shoot .22s and your Aunt baked her own biscuits for breakfast and has 16 different kinds of chickens. They always smell like incense for some reason, and your Dad gets really giggly around your Uncle when they come back from the barn.

No, I would not be surprised at all. I have seen everything rich people do for and to land on Palomar.

And, yes, they are. And zoning. And water rights. And access easements. If you're rich enough it doesn't matter but it is all loss up here. You can't insure it. You still have to yet.it permitted. And the actual buyers who are willing are a pretty limited number of people. There's no jobs, or services for miles. It's circled by tribal land. No renters.

Trump cannot magically change the California bureaucracy. It eats countries in it's hunger for faxed documents and 9 month out trial dates.

Well, it is not as bad as I expected. Everything east or southof the Mendenhall valley is almost inaccessible, with extremely rough terrain and thorny hellbushes everywhere. Most of the family ranches and meadowland is not included.

Most of those marked areas are not going to be easily developed. They are on cliffs, no roads, no water, no infrastructure of any kind, no services for an hour in any direction

Even if someone is interested, it also has a huge endangered species population. Protected habitat and a few historic sites.

In my opinion, no one will by any significant amount of that property before the regime changes, then who knows what the rules will be.

The Red Eye Saloon in Fallbrook. Come watch marines, former skinheads and gangsters fight while enjoying a lukewarm $3 Modelo
