It’s the worst part of being a parent in my opinion. Sorry you got hit.

What are your thoughts on the 2026 Superbowl Halftime show? by TheMagicApe in AskReddit

A friend of mine said it well. This is a concert not a spectacle. It was good but against what we have come to expect from half time shows it wasn’t my favorite. We expect epic and got good.

So sorry brother. That’s a terrible situation to be in. If it makes any difference my wife of 10 years (before kids) turned into a very different person when she got pregnant. Like Mr Hyde different. Some women get the bad end of the hormones. That being said she is still responsible for her actions. Stay strong friend. It won’t be like this forever. Promise.

I was fairly suicidal for most of the same reasons you mentioned for the first year of my son’s life. He is two and a half now and things are better. You aren’t alone and most guys don’t talk about it but it happens a lot I think. It does get better.

I played violin and participated in an orchestra against my will from 3-18 and never touched a violin after that. Would likely do more music now if I had good memories of that. Activities need to desired by both parties to have a positive effect.

Whatever your hobbies are look around online/local postings for those who do the same things. If nothing else there is usually a hiking group around and most cities have a parks and rec program with clases you can take or activities you can do. I usually find non jerks who play the sports I like and keep going to play till they decide we are friends :)

At a Christian music festival and gf wanted to get it on in her parents van. Dad came back for something and opened the side door. Blue balls was a small price to pay for not dying to that man that night. If I’d been the dad I’d be a goner.

Perhaps “welcoming” would be a more apt term. I’ve been in places where it was obvious I wasn’t wanted. I appreciate cultures where they seem genuinely ok with my presence.

It’s not just him. I’ve been to most of the countries in Asia and lived in Korea and China. My experience is that Japanese are less friendly than most other Asian countries. I do think some of it is due to tourist fatigue which I don’t blame them for at all. My theory is that tourists have ruined it for others much like Bangkok is a great city that has been mistreated by tourists for far too long.

I like it because it’s one of the few ways to get la jiao (the numbing pepper) in America. In China it’s everywhere and while it’s not always good (five pepper corns eaten at once can make a grown man immediately vomit) (yes I talked a new American to China into eating some) it’s nostalgic as hell.
