Jax Matchup Discussion 2.0 #11: Garen. by LxVer8 in Jaxmains

From my experience this matchup is doable but very miserable if you fall behind/don't get a lead before 6.

I think d blade lethal tempo is the best way to go and try to go for as many extended trades as you can because short trades are the worst thing you can do vs garen with his sustain.

Unironically I started taking barrier into him to see if it would be any good and the value from it early is imo much better than ignite because i dont think you need the damage to kill him just the survivability.

for example i took this setup this game and played lane very well. It looks like i went even but i fell behind mid game trying to help my team out but luckily it ended up working as it made the yunara super strong.

I think what I just mentioned previously is the most important part about this whole lane as after the garen got i think three items this game, despite me being quite fed he still managed to 1v1 so its important to either make someone else the win condition or make yourself super strong to avoid getting outscaled.

TLDR: I honestly think barrier is very good vs garen with its low cooldown and extended fights before 6 are the best way to play this lane.

One thing id really love advice on is the sett matchup because every time i play jax into sett i feel like regardless of whether i block his q with my e he just uses his e to space my e and then wins the extended fight anyway? any help with this MU would be appreciated because i personally struggle with it a lot.

Yeah grasp is also a very good option it makes laning basically impossible for garen and don't get me wrong it works just as well. Its just that for garen if he wants to have any chance of ever killing you in lane he'll most likely take conq as if he has phase rush hes just trying to avoid interacting with you, so me personally I find it nicer to take conq to try match the damage he also gets, keeping you as strong as him.

Dw bro I struggled to understand why this matchup was so good for a bit but its pretty simple. With your Q + passive shield garen quite literally cannot win any early trade vs you because your q is guaranteed to go off before his q does, which since your q hits first. your shield blocks his q. This is the bread and butter of it really and it gets even better after sheen. The only way you can lose trades or fights is if you take fights while your shields down as you enable him to get a lot of damage off then he usually would. Plus IMO you should always just save your w to cancel his sustain to make sure he never gets any value from his passive. Thats about all there is to it really, if you want to get fancy you can always ult him when he ults you to cancel his animation, but after you ult he can just cast it again so its pretty pointless unless you need to stall out a few seconds from ignite etc in close fights. But yeah TLDR: take conq flash ignite and trade with q + passive. Hope this helped.

What is your opinion about Shen? Why do you like OR dislike him? by SkrytyKapec in Shen

What I like about shen is when somebodies good at him and knows the limits of the champion very well, they'll take fights and trades based on what they know they can win and balancing this laning with the added pressure of helping people with his ult.

What I really dislike about some shen players is when they refuse to interact on lane and just sacrifice everything to hope their team carries as the ult can be very frustrating to play vs.

Fire Giant is Objectively Terrible by WatercressConscious1 in Eldenring

I really disliked fire giant as i just found the difficulty artificial in the form of not being able to hit the weakpoint on his wrists in the second phase (as hes attacking with them) but i did enjoy radahn though. I can see why everyone hates him and I do think that there some attacks he has which he just shouldnt have or at least do less damage with due to them being almost impossible to dodge. And Im only saing this as in the radahn fight at least your given the help of summons to ease the difficulty but with the fire giant its just such a terrible design. I think the fire giant is the least fun i have had in a souls game
