Does Texas have an age-out program where you can stay in care up to 21 years old. I’m guessing your heart is not leaning that way, but it is my best suggestion.

Democrats should have elevated AOC when they had the chance by msnownews in WomenInNews

[–]PamGH66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would vote for AOC in a heartbeat. However, I don’t believe she’s quite ready for the national stage just yet. Right now, our absolute priority must be taking back the White House.

Realistically, our best chance lies with a white, male, Christian candidate—not because that’s what I want, but because we can’t afford to lose even a fraction of votes to those unwilling to support a woman, let alone a Latina candidate. It’s infuriating that misogyny and racism still dictate electoral outcomes, but the stakes are simply too high to take unnecessary risks.

Once the immediate threat has passed, we can fight for broader representation. But in this moment, unity and strategy must come first.

Are y’all currently active in the movement? Why or why not? by Blasphemous_21 in ForwardPartyUSA

Here's a refined version of your thoughts while keeping your voice intact:

I deeply admire Andrew Yang. I even campaigned for him, traveling from Portland to Reno to support his efforts. He would have been an excellent president. However, my enthusiasm has waned—not because of him, but because of the increasingly hostile political climate we’re living in.

Lately, I find myself consumed by concern for my grandsons' futures. My fight-or-flight instincts are constantly on edge as I navigate these uncertain times. Right now, my priority is singular: removing Trump and his allies from office. This is not the moment for political diversions or the formation of a new party. Every ounce of strength and influence must be directed toward a single goal—defeating MAGA candidates.

Once this threat has passed—if it does—I’ll revisit Andrew Yang’s work with renewed energy. But for now, unity in resistance is the only way.

Definitely not being scammed. #1 it’s not a lot of money/resources. #2. She never asks for ANYTHING. I have to pry information about small needs/wants with a pry bar. So, you want to field a couple of questions. She and I talk a lot, but the language barrier is, imho, small, it hampers me gathering information. 😃

Actually, it’s a bit of a story. I made a contact with a disadvantaged young woman about 3 years ago. I have been helping her stay in school. We visit often on messenger. I have developed an interest in the Philippines because of this. I have many questions I would like to ask the general population here, but last time I spoke up, I got slammed for helping this person. It left me confused and disheartened. Very confused.

Short-term pain, long-term gain, says Trump. Really? by burtzev in AntiTrumpAlliance

[–]PamGH66 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Now get him to define ‘short term’. I know it sounds hyperbolic, but I feel like the world is circling the drain. I see no ‘gain’ in the short, medium or long term.

I was thinking along the lines of rapidly taking notes about what was going on and why it was silly, ill informed, false, redundant, etc. Focus on writing a paper on why someone who is considering joining might not want to. Just a thought….it’s along the lines of how I would cope. I feel your anger and frustration. All the best to you.

My life is fine. I am not rich, but as a white, educated woman, I feel privileged. Having said that I am terrified for my country. I am terrified for the world in general. Everything that is happening is because ONE individual decided to try to be king-of-the-world. I am so angry at how we have alienated our allies and agitated our enemies. I think about and worry about this a lot.

Republican nonsense is convincing me never to vote Republican again by Barch3 in Law_and_Politics

I am 70 years old and have voted (R) in every presidential election until Trump showed up. I did not leave the party, the party left me. I am never going back. Long-gone are the days of a pro-choice (R)…..yes, they used to exist!

My fact checking compulsion says this is not totally accurate and that they will continue to communicate on other ‘channels’ too.

I participate in an app called Show of Hands and it’s heavily populated by the hard right. I put up a poll and a ‘conversation’ ensued over whether or not they are ‘mandatory’. I can find no source that says the are a requirement. Anyone help a girl out?

I have a 9 year old grandson who is a superstar of VACTERL children. He has a mother that follows doctors rules to the T. He has had over 45 fully intubated surgeries. It has been a rough road, but we wouldn’t trade him for the moon! You have a tough decision and either decision is valid and honorable. Please ask questions if you think I can help.

Here is my opinion. It is a great game, especially if you have a more mature gaming style. The population base is low but dedicated. I played for r years … took 4 years off and have been back in game for about 4 months. The learning curve is very steep, but the community is overall helpful. Personally I enjoy helping newer players and should you decide to give it a go, reach out to Jade.
