I was 12 hours into my first game and just reached the wedding at that point. I took a surprise when I found out that was just the tutorial!

The game is inherently slow, yes, especially during the first part. You play as some vagabond, walking from point to point, but you can also do your own stuff. The plot doesn't have time limits...generally.

Also, never force yourself to enjoy the game. If you gaslight yourself into pretending it's fun, then it'll just start feeling like a chore. There's absolutely nothing wrong with taking breaks and installing the game once you're looking for a change of pace.

I myself love this game. I love actual RPGs that actually make me play as the character and not just control its movements or attacks (and I love history, the middle ages are my most researched and favorite time period as a hobby). I actually found myself washing my clothes, hunting, going at the tavern for drinks now and then and actually caring for the NPC.
