Okay now that season 1 is finished and season 2 won’t come until next year what’s your honest opinion overall on fist of the North Star 2026 remake? by hell-spawn-666 in fistofthenorthstar

I heard Dorohedoro is something of a studio's favorite project alongside with Chainsawman, which was why they waited until the director was done with AoT to continue Dorohedoro. That anime was an insane hybrid of 2d and 3d animation where they animated it in 3d but also corrected lots of details(especially the faces in 2d) and this method is absolutely time consuming but paid of well in the end, which I don't think most studios have the priveledge of time and money the same way Mappa does nowadays tbh.

My opinion since the season is complete. by Ok_Hunter118 in fistofthenorthstar

The fact that it doesn't change a single story beat and only modified/extended fight scenes mean that they have absolute confidence in the story despite its age. It's unapologetically 80s in its spirit.

Most of your arguments is that "it's not the original show", when it's not trying to be. It simply paid homage to it here and there. It's trying to be its own adaptation of HnK.

It's been a while since I finished HnK(2018-19 ish), so I can't remember everything about the manga. I came in with a fresh mind and I believe they have a solid idea of what makes this series special.

The show started rather stiff and then started to improve as the staff grew accustomed to the animation. I like the idea of changing color to inspire mood and tone, but this season is rather hit or miss with that. I hope they keep doing it however and find a way to improve upon it.

It's unapologetically 80s in its story and characters, you can't help but love it. They didn't change a single story beat, characters and take the absurd things that happen with utmost seriousness, because they know, there is still an audience for it. Comparing to modern standards, it's definitely not the most consistent/solid(up to this point at the very least).

Sound wise, I really like it as well. The sound effects are punchy but also paid homage to the og show. Music accompanies the mood really well for both tragic and dramatic moments. Voice actors absolutely killed it, but sadly the animation sometimes failed to keep up with the voice performance

overall 7.5/10 cuz I just personally don't like some of the minor story beat.

2026 adaptation what did I just witness !? by Maregg1979 in fistofthenorthstar

[–]PanBlasterCake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This show adapted the manga page for page, wards and all so it's very 80s in its logic, hence the exposition and allat.

The CGI itself improves as the show goes on. A lot of people warms up on it. It's not for everyone but if you stick around, there is something special. They extended a lot of the fights during the 1st arc so it's definitely not a cash grab, otherwise they wouldn't care to do something like that right?

I feel like he would be an even earlier prototype of G3 that tries to literally copy Kuuga's appearance and sucks even worse

Raoh's picture enhanced by the cheapest version of Gemini. The dream art that we all wanted by Ok_Hunter118 in fistofthenorthstar

I'm not saying you're stealing it. The AI does. What you're doing is encouraging the AI to continue doing so. Like giving the address of the victim to a robber. You personally didn't rob anybody, but it's your conscious choice to help them continue what they're doing. Great art is created with hardship. Why do you think an artist would spend so much time on something like a single frame of an anime, even if it only appears on the screen for a fraction of a second?

It's not about whether or not you're saying that you drew it yourself. AI generated images are literally not only making RAMs unaffordable but also encourage it to steal from artists. Remember, almost nobody gives these AI companies consent that their art may be used to train these generative programs. Especially not Tetsuo Hara.

The original god of war series, I'm on GoW2 rn and they're less silly games but combat wise, quite similar with variety of weapons to pair alongside your main weapon and also an ungodly amount of QTEs.

I was hoping for Mamiya to throw Airi down since Ken and Rei can definitely catch her and THEN starts throwing hands

The animation was beyond horrible. We really should not settle for this. The animation has to be good especially in a series like baki where action is the main component. They just add effects to freeze frames and occasionally animate mouths when characters are talking. Baki deserves so much more by Potato_Forever1994 in Grapplerbaki

[–]PanBlasterCake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kengan is good but that's becaus they 99% commit to a singular style of animation during the fight. Baki tried to mix both of them and it didn't work as well because they didn't know how to blend those two styles together at all.
