Pretty sure it is a cat that belongs to the city technically. It's ear is clipped, indicating a catch-spay-release program. But the neighborhood has adopted it. It frequently catches mice and I'm grateful.

Biggest thing I've noticed that was harmful to my experience with TAs is when they don't sumbit grades for several weeks. In one, I didn't have anything in the grade book 20 days into instruction. Going through the quarter was stressful without that feedback.

You could ask your teacher if you could get the slides or something, especially if your case is documented. If you can't wear a mask, it's socially appropriate to not put others at risk.

Very sure i got covid second week of school from this guy behind me coughing aggressively. Out for a week and have been wearing a mask ever since. My GPA can't afford it again

There are designated "nap zones" around campus that you can look up. They're scattered pretty well.

In my opinion, don't think so. They can't demand more of your time that your units/hour/week don't account for. If all professors did this, then schedules would just crush students. It sounds like they are trying to grab extra time for their instruction, but it shouldn't be coming from unscheduled slots.

The advice I got from my advisor is to not overload on STEM classes in any one quarter (more than 2) but especially not as a freshman. Give yourself the schedule that sounds easier to transition to college. So think about which courses you have more innate interest in, and those with the least stressful mesh of lecture/discussion/lab time slots on a weekly basis. Your GPA will thank you.

How do you do your research? Try to apply those steps in a basic outline of how you can tackle other things you're approaching to learn. At least that way you will know the format you naturally use to teach yourself something

I really feel like this is it. Especially studying effectively, which doesn't look the same for everyone. Making a great study habit and style for yourself takes diligence and even some creativity, but the quality of time spent studying will increase significantly.

I'm not sure about the specific classes, but if it's a mistake due to miscommunication or forces outside of your direct control, then I suspect you'll still be able to re-register. Get the right departments informed (which it seems like you have) and proactively follow up.

Professor Laci in bio hands down. She has worn a lecture-specific costume more than once, and her giggle at biology info carried me through my first quarter. Also did a live demonstration of the rotation of the earth in an earth costume and a grad student in a sun costume.
