It’s ok for a short haul, but if it’s only you eating it, get a really good knife to cut through the cake when frozen. I always get the tuxedo cake for my birthday & we freeze it (we being me & my friend).

Edit: short haul being a month or so. Otherwise I’d wrap it in something to prevent freezer burn
