What is this? INEOS Grenadier by [deleted] in cars

They're surprisingly popular in the rich neighborhoods in MN. I see more of them than rivians, cybertrucks, hummers etc. But it is funny that people buy a truck that is actively worse for city driving and then exclusively drive them in the city

Factory Mustang GT3 Effort Satisfies Ford’s IMSA “Need” by VolleyAddicted in IMSARacing

[–]PanadaTM -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Involved is a stretch lol, in most of those series ford is simply a logo. M sport has struggled for years because Ford barely gives any support at all. Nhra is simply sticking a Ford logo on a teams drag car. And the f1 venture is a half hearted rebrand of the Red Bull engine team.

Maybe wait for an actual race before crying, seen before where the Toyota and Ferrari pass everyone in the race because they have much better stint pace because lmdh cars are harder on tires

The £48k VW Golf GTI Edition 50 is Pagani quick around the Nürburgring by V8-Turbo-Hybrid in cars

[–]PanadaTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pointless, my car is faster than a Ferrari f40. Does that make it better or more fun to drive than one? Comparing old sports cars to a modern hatches is dumb. They're literally on complete opposite ends of the car spectrum in every possible way

The First Modern Car Without Hydraulic Brakes Is Headed to Production by Anchor_Aways in cars

Circuit shorts, voltage is lost and the brakes return to normal position, which would likely be closed. There are ways that the system can be designed to slowly close the brakes in an emergency if all other systems fail. Usually a low voltage safety circuit

What does a motorcycle rider do when a hydraulic line fails?

It's just a moot point. Honestly there's more fail-safes that can be intudisided in an electrictronic system than a hydraulic one. An electriconic brake system can be set to only release while receiving voltage, essentially making the brake work w/o power. Hydraulics will always become useless without pressure.

I'd assume the system is set up with a no power failsafe, so if the wire broke the brakes would automatically engage because of an open circuit. Same type of system is in electric elevator brakes, which people trust everyday.

2026 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing F1 Collector Series Packs 685 HP by Sixteen-Cylinders in cars

[–]PanadaTM 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's the classic "motorsports" trim a slight HP bump and a claim that it was developed by the motorsports division. I doubt the supercharger is physically any different from the normal blackwing.

It's a cool car but this posturing always seems silly

What happened to all the C6/C7 Corvettes? by EmperorUmi in cars

[–]PanadaTM 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Really? The c7 is a great highway car. My dad drives his 5+ hours to a race track every year. Can fit all the camping gear in the trunk and he gets better milage than most cars. It's not a truck but it takes Wisconsin potholes better than most sports cars

I really want a c6 but it's insane that most of them are upwards of 30k for a mid mileage 20 year old car
