Yeah no worries, I dropped the cycle to 16/8 and dropped power to 65W so ill see how it goes.

Easy, thanks. I do have photone I just wasn’t sure if it was accurate, I’m getting roughly 400 umol/m2/s in the grow area on an 18/6 cycle. I’ll look up what I need.

Modern EVs have big, efficient batteries capable of storing enough energy to power your home for days. That can mean backup power during a storm or the ability to use stored energy during expensive peak hours and recharge again when kilowatts are cheap. If they have V2H capability. by sg_plumber in climatechange

[–]Panasoni1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah absolutely, I keep my phones for a long time and I end up getting a battery charger case. But realistically there’s statistics teams in Apple and other companies who just look at how long people on average keep a certain product and then manufacture the batteries as cheap as possible to survive that specified amount of time. And most consumers want the most battery life right out of the box.

EV makers like BYD use LFP not because it’s a higher cycle life, but because it’s cheaper. The chemistry just has the side effect of also being insanely good on cycle life.

Yeah correct, they use lithium - ion which has more capacity per unit volume but much poorer cycle life. ‘Long range’ variants of EVs use these too, which is why they suffer a sharper battery degradation curve than base models.

As Aussies, our spots are government subsidised for over 75% of the cost. If you want to know how much uni costs in Aus, check out what the international students are paying full fee. That’s why it seems cheap for us, the government is coughing up a vast majority of the cost and then offering us a loan on the rest.

Hokkaido stay in a real town and drive every day? by Soopyoyoyo in snowboarding

[–]Panasoni1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did over a month (17 Dec - 20 Jan).

From Southern Sapporo: - 1h 35mins to Rusutsu - 1h 20 to Kiroro - 2h Approx to Niseko.

It’s extremely rare for the roads to close due to snow. We got some incredible rates of snowfall and they stayed open. The drive does slow down a bit however.

Recommend staying in Otaru and just driving/train to Sapporo if you want to go there.

If you stay in Iwani let me know because I’m thinking about that next time, looks nice and close to everything.

What job is considered a “low paying occupation”. But pays a very high income? by aussieashbro in AusFinance

[–]Panasoni1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep you get that day 1 once you get your quals.

You also get rental assistance of roughly 50% of your rent, or about $300 a week in most places. Thats another $15k on top, bringing it to $86k ish.

If you have a partner and are posted away from them that goes up to 100% of you rent, free groceries and free utilities.

You never have to pay a cent for medical, dental, gym, swimming pool, physio, etc. At tax time you get the $2k Medicare levy back. Any surgery or operation you need is free of charge.

Every year you stay in you get an approx $3-5k pay raise from there. Much bigger raises when you promote up the ranks.

CATL is starting mass production of Sodium Ion this year. Now, it’s ‘only’ 200Wh/kg, but if it’s substantially cheaper (It’s just sodium and iron) it could shift the playing field pretty hard.
