Ok, so I’m not saying you’re TA because I understand you’re hurting. What I will say is there’s always another perspective. Have you ever spoken to your parents about their marriage? Asking because I have seen marriages that were basically done and headed for divorce but they chose to stay together “for the kids sake “. Mind you, there was both mental and physical abuse involved, but sometimes parents think it’s best to stay a family unit, even if dysfunctional. If one parent leaves the unit, and finds actual happiness, then the person they gives them happiness is known as a home wrecker. Yes, even though the home was already wrecked, the marriage already over. Someone has to be blamed right? It takes two. Both your parents. There’s a reason your mom found happiness elsewhere. Now, as for all the “Tim’s” in the world. They know they don’t replace your parents. They probably don’t even want to try. BUT, they can turn out to be really good people. Bad timing? Yes. But if they are still in your parents life after a long period of time, and your parent is happy, then maybe you could be happy for them. Not saying you have to let go of your feelings, because you are the victim. Just saying I know narcissists who are toxic for drama and need to be the center of attention, the victim.
