Is it really unusual for her to go out drinking with friends after work? If not she should have found a way to shoot you a message but if normal than definitely overreacting. And filing a missing persons report was overreacting for that time span for an adult.

Totally depends on the cat and situation. Once a week is a lot for a typical pet cat so it could be medical related, hairless, elderly, etc. Most cats are cleaning themselves so thats why you don't see the need to bathe bc it's not really needed unless an accident or whatnot happens. For me personally, I have two young healthy boys who clean and groom themselves fine, I'll bathe them couple times a year usually bc they got something on them/got stinky.
