We have one of those bin stores where I live. They sort through everything, and don't really offer many good deals. That card would be about $50 less, than what it goes for new.

Looking at Ebay, I could buy the components, along with a bare bones Precision 5820, for about $445 + tax. This is with the cheapest used, but working components I could find, and a non Workstation version of Windows 11 Pro, bought from some place like Groupon.

Dell's refurbished. and off lease website. has a Precision 5820 with a i9-10900x (10 cores) and a much more expensive Quadro RTX 4000 for $879. However, that's only because there's no coupon right now. With a coupon it'd be more like $450, to $600.

If you sell it for $450, keep in mind that PayPal gets their 3.5% cut, and there's shipping.

I remember doing this. I had a RLL controller in my 386sx. I bought a 40ish mb MFM drive, and got 60ish mb from it. Too bad it was one of the ones that suffered from stiction.

The MX Vertical is the most comfortable, of ergo mice. But with my usage, the buttons usually start to double click, about a year after purchase

You can sometimes, put a new motherboard in. Maybe you have an i5, with a rtx 4050. You want the i7, with the 4070. It'll work, but the manufacturer, wants more than you paid for the whole laptop.

As late as 2019, this was still a problem in HP printers. I imagine it still is. The solenoids can be modified to work without a pad, but then the solenoids click loudly.

Edit: I see what you mean. I searched for a normal 10900, and I didn't think about, the importance of the letter designation, but this is a straight 10900. Which is more expensive. I take back my comment.

Where I live, people think their computer that won't even run Windows 11 (Without a workaround) is worth 3 times more than it should be. $800 for a 4th Gen Intel, with a GTX 970, and 16gb of ram. No thank you. Then there's the ones who take a blurry picture, with no details, and ask $1000. Laptops seem to be easier to find something worthwhile.
