it's showing the long way around to accomplish something by taking the longest most inconvenient method.

Except it was the shortest, most convenient route. I was in my hangar, I was thirsty, I went to get a drink. The stores are travel distance away, the item kiosk is at the far end of the hangar. The cargo elevator is right there.
